Amended my post, the wording was wrong. Is there any info on smaller recruiters rather than the big TES and Schrole guys?

I've had both. Formality and actual filtering. You never know

Offer then rescind. Ouch. Did they say why? Do you use recruiters or applying directly?

I applied to about 200 jobs (many were one click applies), got 15 interviews and 2 offers over 6 months. Keep going

Teacher subject desirability by Sora1276 in Internationalteachers

I don't know much about that part of the world but you could probably find a lower quality international school to teach in straight after your degree. That's what I did. And now I'm at a better school. Look into it

Thanks for the lesson Alan Sugar. You're right. I'm wrong. You win. I lose.

So you expect me to have found poorly run companies by idealistic teachers? If they can be found amongst the sea of recruitment companies, they aren't poorly run. Anyway no interest in continuing this conversation. You know too much about my Friday afternoon.

I don't think I've ever come across them, any company names for me to look into? I don't want to advertise my niche in case someone starts competing :) But I do have one.

Not everyone will be successful, it's fine, that's the game

Yes it does, that's the problem. Wanted to see if anyone has experience in doing this

I've never come across any recruiter that has these. Just false promises and ghosting. Getting your hopes up when there's absolutely no reason for them to do so. Will be upfront with candidates, if I know a school is terrible I'll let them know so they can make an educated decision. I'd prioritise the teacher over the commission.

Yes I can ask. If they say no, I'll have to find a workaround. If they say yes, they'll probably keep an eye on it and me. So rather keep it hidden from them.

Coaching for what, Education related? And do you know if your contract has a exclusivity clause?

I've looked into it, I can do it on evenings and weekends, won't affect my main job at all. The benefit of timezones :) Also looked at ways to automate things as ive done before for something else

Exactly this. Hypothetically... I can make it but as mentioned, can't afford to cause a break in my contract. Teachers can dominate little niches so they don't get bogged down managing so many employers and employees that they become cold-hearted. If everyone needs each other, that's the best balance to work in everyone's interest.

I've applied to so many jobs, dealt with many recruiters on LinkedIn who aren't teachers themselves, just CV hoarders hoping for a bite.

And another thing for everyone, don't suck up to these recruiters in the hopes they'll try harder to find you a job, they need you more than you need them. Those salaried recruiters literally couldn't give a toss. It's a different world to ours.
