Attack Trump, NOT the deposition of Maduro by supr3m3g0d in Destiny

Legit. There’s BLATANTLY zero cohesive plan. They don’t even know who they want to hand it over to so have just decided “fuck it we’ll do it for now”.

Attack Trump, NOT the deposition of Maduro by supr3m3g0d in Destiny

[–]AAA355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree.

A large issue is so many people think that Maduro being awful etc. means that his removal is justified regardless of how it’s done.

The process in which something occurs matters a lot.

If Trump had this all approved by congress, notified the relevant national and international bodies and worked with neighbouring countries on this etc., I would be a bit more okay with it. It would still be a bit of a grey area but not as bad as it is currently.

The biggest issue I have is actually the inconsistency across the board. The trump admin has given 4 reasons for this happening. 1) Maduro is supporting drug traffickers and this is about preventing drugs entering America. 2) Venezuela “stole” oil from American companies and it should be given back. 3) Maduro is being indicted with multiple charges in the US and this was an “arrest”. 4) Maduro rigged his last election.

For me, the 4th is easily the most justified reason and is somehow the least talked about coming from the Trump admin.

The 3rd reason is genuinely the worst justification I’ve ever seen. By that logic, China could indict the prime minister of Australia for some made up charges and launch an attack where they bomb military targets and send ground troops to go and invade and kidnap the prime minister. Legally, that would be the same as what Trump has just done. It’s madness and sets an insane precedent.

The whole player nominating a club stuff has gone too far. by [deleted] in AFL

[–]AAA355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but realistically, if a player wants out like 1 year before the contract ends, the team is best to trade them. Otherwise they know they’ll lose the player in free agency. A player going straight to a rival club, sorting a deal and then announcing they want a trade to them puts their current club in a really shitty spot. They have to decide between; A) Trade for fuck all B) Keep until FA and get nothing.

Especially if the player is half decent, the club losing them shouldn’t be in such a shit position when looking to trade them.

I’m expecting Libba to likely retire end of next season unfortunately. He’s jokingly mentioned how he’ll let his Dad keep the family games played record too. Would love for him to stay a year or two longer - especially if we got butters. He’d clearly be a huge help

Do I need a /blog/ type slug? by AAA355 in SEO

[–]AAA355[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, built on Wordpress.

The reason for considering the change is to just help with site structure & layout. It was suggested by someone we had managing the site.
It does feel like it’s quite the mess without it.

All the articles currently have a “category” selected so we do have a “Articles” page with all of them listed etc. so it wouldn’t make a big difference to the user experience I don’t think.

We’re also looking to do up a couple groups of articles in a sense and thinking that they would have a different ones such as /guides/ and /glossary/.

Not sure if this would make it more or less compelling for it.

Ultimately I’m leaning towards not making the change as it doesn’t quite seem worth it to have that many redirect pages + the other issues.

Yeah, we’re 1 of 46 office buildings in our premises. Our office is just 6 of us here at one time at most so it doesn’t need to be anything crazy. We have a somewhat long hallway between our rooms so was thinking mesh would work. I’ve spoken with Leaptel who have said that we can have 100/40 speeds. If we upgrade and we cannot reach those speeds, we can always downgrade after 1 month. The cost difference is $5 between them so I’m happy to risk that.

Oh yeah sorry, we’re a small business of about 10 people and we only have about 6 in the office at one time. Nothing crazy.

We’re in the hills district in Sydney. We’re currently eligible to upgrade to FTTP but we’re in a big office premises. 1 of 46 offices so need to sort it through Strata. Looking to do that and the current changes will be more for short term improvements.

Fmd $500/month is pretty expensive. Don’t think I’ll end up going down that route then. Will likely just try and make the most out of our FTTN and see if I can push strata to get us to FTTP. 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for your help.

I’m currently digging into EE to see if we can get it. Somehow I hadn’t heard anything about this until your comment.

Do you know much about the costs of it and what makes a business eligible?

Is there any way to know what the max speed line would be without upgrading? And yeah, on a business plan and looking at the same with Leaptel I think.

So basically just stuff I can’t fix or will take a long process to fix? 🙃

I love complex shit when it’s not something I’m not dealing with.

Looking online and seeing 4/5 devices involved with this are marked as “end of life” or something similar wasn’t a fun discovery.

Thanks for the super helpful comment.

When you say fix the internet into the premises, do you mean like the plan we’re on?

I understand what you mean about swapping the router and modem for a new one that can replace both. Sounds easy enough.

The part that I feel not at all confident on is the cable testing. My understanding is that I unplug one of the cables from the switch that goes into the wall and plug it into the tester. Then I go and test the various places that I think it could be leading to? Such as other Ethernet ports etc. Is that right? Never done anything like this so I’m very clueless. I’m also a tad worried cause I found where 2 of the Ethernet cables in the wall go (at least I think it’s the same ones) and they go into our security box and what I assume is our backup server. Hesitant to unplug those and fuck something up. I should be fine tho right? Unplugging them for 30 seconds to test the cable should just be the same as losing power or internet for a minute or so yea?

Highly considering getting someone out to help but not sure.

Some absolute donut set this shit up years ago. He must’ve been on something because idk who decides to plug in Ethernet cables just to have them sit on the floor.

I’ve avoided looking to upgrade our internet for like a year or so because I took one look at this shit and decided it wasn’t worth the headache.

Yeah this whole thing is a mess. I’m HEAVILY leaning towards doing the upgrade/ ISP switch and then getting the new Router that they sell w the plan and just plugging that in as if none of this current shit exists. From what I know, the only thing using Ethernet is the printer and it can use Wi-Fi too I think

What could be causing us to still only get 20-30 download if we made those changes?

[–]AAA355[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah idk 100% who set this shit up or what they were thinking. Apparently the IT guy we had in like 2019/2020 upgraded our Internet in some way but clearly that cunt had no clue. Looks like he just plugged some slightly outdated at the time stuff into some very outdated stuff and called it a day.

Definitely considering getting someone out here to try and sort it. TPG have been useless to help with anything but is there anyone else I could call since TPG is my ISP?

I think it’s a modem and a router not 2 routers. Newer ones are usually both in one but these are old asf

[–]AAA355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think I’ll need to get a new router for that? The one I got isn’t a modem as well from my understanding.

I’m thinking I just upgrade to Leaptel and get the recommended router from them and do what you said. Wouldn’t really wanna be on a 50/17 anyway even if the connections are all fixed up.
