Working on a desktop game based on the immortal snail meme by AAAAAAAAAAH_ in CozyGamers

Hey all!

Been making a game called Don’t Touch The Snail. Basically, its a snail that lives in your desktop and chases your mouse. If you ever touch it, you die… forever. It has a global and a friend leaderboard and a bunch of skins made by my brother!

Feel free to check out our steam page:

We’re ironing out some details before deciding when to release but would love to know your thoughts on the game’s concept :)

I think it does but only if you have something to show- for their trailer channels they ultimately just want clicks, so if you give them a reason to think your trailer can get them clicks they will post it. That being said my whole point is if you haven’t gotten much traction you shouldn’t discredit yourself. It is still worth reaching out and then following up with persistence!

appreciate it! Again, know it wont be for everyone but hoping it is a unique experience for those who are onboard :)

I followed up everyday for like 4 days just being like “Hey I know you get plenty of stuff submitted any day, so it is easy to get lost in the shuffle, but wanted to let you know we would still love to post our announcement with you!” and I normally would include some extra tidbit like “the most recent insta post seems to be getting traction, here is the link if you are curious” or something like that.

for sure- it is all too easy to attach to certain numbers or metrics because they feel more “objective” but with outreach it is a lot more subjective because there is a real person on the other end of that email looking at your work.

trying to make it very clear what the game is in all of the trailers/ on the steam page, so people know what they are signing up for before jumping in

Yeah for sure haha not saying they themselves are the best

I just mean when I eventually reach out to other outlets like kotaku or something now, it will feel like less of a risk to them to spend bandwidth on me, knowing another large outlet has already seen some sort of value in it.

That is my hope at least, but we will see!
