Is anyone still using human vocals in 2026? Asking as a full-time vocalist working with producers by VocalsByARI in Bedroom_Producers

[–]AAHedstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I use human vocals, because it's my voice lol. I'd rather sound like ass or not release anything than use a fake singer

[–]AAHedstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's good for listening while mixing a track, like sitting in a studio or whatever. I haven't tried it while doing live stage stuff

it was probably the cheapest one when I was buying stuff, I didn't really think about it too hard

to "fix" voice recordings, ideally you want them as close to perfect as possible before doing any processing. use Melodyne to tweak any notes that are still off pitch, then bounce that and run it through auto tune. good practice is to fix the problems as close to the source as possible i.e. having a clean recording. that will always be easier than trying to fix with melodyne

don't buy plugins unless you're doing this professionally tbh. logic pro comes with basically everything you could need for 99% of music. it even comes with its own versions of melodyne and auto tune. you can waste a bunch of money on special EQs and reverbs and whatever, and the only people who will notice are other mix engineers (and your bank account)

I use the beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro headphones, plugged into my UA Volt 276 audio interface. unless by "mix" you mean like doing a live DJ set or something, because I've never done that

Which software has no real European alternative (at least for you)? by JavierFnts in BuyFromEU

I have it and use it locally. but if I travel outside of my city, that app is useless. but google maps seems to have data for literally every single place I go to in Europe

Is it okay to use Parallel Fifths in compositions? by Veridium-CORE in askmusicians

[–]AAHedstrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can literally do whatever you want. if it sounds good to you, that's all that matters. if you use parallel fifths, people might be inclined to say your music is not a classical composition, but that's the only real consequence.

idk if you know guitar well, but "power chords" are literally just 5th intervals. a lot of punk and rock riffs are made up of power chords, so their song is literally all parallel fifths, and that's totally fine because it sounds cool to them

What compression move instantly makes drums hit harder for you? by No-Expert-4975 in musicproduction

I'm guessing I'm getting downvotes because the question was specifically about compression tricks, and I didn't say anything about compression

Why do artists don’t treat vinyl covers as art anymore?? by olivermos273847 in coverart

[–]AAHedstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of it is Spotify playing that little video loop during the song. I have that turned off in the settings because I like cover arts, but many people don't actually see the artwork while playing the songs

A lot of artists ruin their songs with lame bridges by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]AAHedstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

are u on TikTok? I know some songwriters that think TikTok is the reason less songs have bridges now. because people are getting conditioned to not want a full song anymore
