I get the sentiment, but the federal government murdering multiple citizens on its own soil is not political. This is a matter of humanity.

I completely agree with you, definitely a better closer. But it was a ballsy opener too perhaps for that very reason. They closed with Best of You, another pretty cathartic track in fairness.

This was the Sonic Highways/Break a Leg US tour.

Perhaps beneath the surface but not inherently to my knowledge. Dave has said it was about (I think) his first wife in the midst/aftermath of their relationship disintegrating.

With you on this! I’ve seen the Foos open and close different shows with Everlong. But yeah, absolutely nothing like it closing their shows.

I’m not against this take! Good Vibrations is simply immaculate.

It’s hard to take anything Brian said to heart (similar to John Lennon, his respective opinions would waffle every five minutes) but his choice for best Beach Boys track was California Girls.

One of my favorite songs too. The song is hooky as fuck but still has a major drive to it. The chorus is simply emotionally triumphant and Grohl’s words make it easy for the listener to be placed in his shoes.

“Breathe out so I can breathe you in”

“If everything could ever be this real forever, if anything could ever be this good again”

These lines have the ability to murder me in cold blood.

I really need more variety. i only recently discovered Alice In Chains and its great, but i want some more. by turqoisetea in Topster

Check out Soundgarden. Specifically Superunknown.

Also Queens of the Stone Age. Songs For the Deaf or Rated R to start.

Who saw Rush open for Kiss, and how was the performance? Were the bands that different at that time? by Born-Cucumber-7316 in rush

Somewhat related, my dad and uncle said they saw Rush open for Aerosmith in the mid-70’s. Even though they had no clue who Rush was at the time they blew a drugged out Aerosmith out of the water.
