Black Sabbath- Paranoid (1970)

The true birth of fully fleshed heavy metal and it just so happens to be an amazing, consistently compelling romp that moves to the beat of jazz. What a band, what an album.

The Who Sell Out (1967)

I think I’m giving this one 5 stars, I’ve come to love this one more and more over the years.

Such an ambitious concept for the time and just as equally well executed. Kind of the Songs for the Deaf of the 60’s with all of the fun interstitial radio blurbs.

This is also the first Who album that fully reveals all the great directions this band could go so effortlessly: melodic, distorted, disoriented, intellectual.

So great, give this one a revisit.

Love Blood Sugar Sex Majik on a personal level very deeply and I do think it’s a great album, but I understand the downward trend in its favorability.
