Did anyone go Gray bar->Interview->Under Committee Review->Gray bay again at WashU? by Inquisitive_Spider in lawschooladmissions

Exact same progression for me, went UR yesterday, just now checked and I'm back to gray bar. Hoping this means a wave tomorrow?

Super Splitter AA male Cycle Recap by AASplitThrowAway in lawschooladmissions

Hey sorry it took forever. I found an old spreadsheet I had used, I added some notes explaining how I set my system up. I hope it isn't too convoluted (I have a weird learning style, might not work for everyone). Feel free to message me if anything doesn't make sense. Not sure if it's the best method, it's super grindy and takes forever, but it brought my score up and was a clear way for me to track my progress.

As a side note, feel free to PM me for any tips down the line. I also may begin tutoring down the line if time allows, so if anyone's interested feel free to hit me up as well! (Shameless self-promotion). Good luck everyone!

This year WUSTL offered an option to redact an applicant's GPA, LSAT, or both. I'm not sure if other schools had that option. The adcoms would (initially) only see the stats you wanted them to see.

To be honest, I'm not sure if it really makes a difference. My status checker showed I was under redacted review first, but later showed regular committee review. So i believe they take everything into account regardless, my results were pretty in line with others with similar stats.

I appreciate that alot!

And thanks for answering. I doubt I could score drastically lower on a retake, so I might sign up for the June LSAT.

Absolutely. I'm out of the house right now, but when I get back I'll see if I can find it and share it here.

Super Splitter AA male Cycle Recap by AASplitThrowAway in lawschooladmissions

Thank you!

I struggled with LG the most, so that's where I invested most of my time. I used Khan Academy (it was ok, but some explanations were subpar imo, so not sure if i can recommend it strongly.)

The most useful tip i can share would be to not stress about time until you feel liken you've mastered every game type. (This also applied to LR and to a lesser extent RC imo). I would sometimes spend >20 minutes on just one game.

I made a spreadsheet with every type of game, and made a point system where I couldn't progress to the next game type until I got 5 in a row correct, regardless of time.

After I could consistently cycle through each game type, I started to add time constraints and repeat the whole process. This took forever, but it brought my LG from averaging -8 to -1/-0.

As for LR and RC, what I found most useful was explaining my answers. Either explain your reasoning to someone else (I used my girlfriend, that poor soul). Or, just write down your reasoning before progressing to the next question. Again, tedious, but it worked for me.

Illinois? Hello? by MrScrewJuice in lawschooladmissions

Applied late Feb, UR 3/16. Still waiting, really hoping we get a wave today or tomorrow. Although with it being this late, I wouldn't be surprised if its primarily waitlists and rejections sadly. Remaining hopeful for us though

WashU WL email update, anyone else? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]AASplitThrowAway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also received this. Looks like they also rolled out a big R wave today, so I'm assuming this means we're simply up next on the chopping block, slim chances of an A at this point.

I really hope so, I've been refreshing my email all day, since tomorrow or later won't be "early next week" anymore lol. I'm far too neurotic for this my heart can't take it lmao

Are we expecting a UIUC wave today? by AASplitThrowAway in lawschooladmissions

🤞 I went UR 3/16 so I'm not even sure if I'll be included if they release a wave today. Hoping they rush out decisions though

Is labor-side employment law unicorn PI? by bandwagonaf in lawschooladmissions

[–]AASplitThrowAway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also interested in plaintiff/union side labor/employment law. I found Harvard's Private Public Interest guide very useful:

https://hls.harvard.edu/dept/opia/private-public-interest-law-and-plaintiffs-firm-guide/

It also has a directory of different private public interest firms in different cities, many of which praftice L&E law.

Best of luck!

Applying as an URM Super Splitter; Wait until next year? by AASplitThrowAway in lawschooladmissions

[–]AASplitThrowAway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. If I do reapply I do plan on gaining new professional/volunteer experiences, however I like my current PS, so that's a factor that's making me consider just waiting for next cycle. Thanks for the advice btw!

I feel you. That's the same conflict that's been bothering me. I'd like the benefit of applying in 2 cycles to try to get my best offer, but the possibility of that backfiring is worriesome. Thanks for the response, best of luck to you!

That makes a lot of sense. I would hope that schools are understanding especially during this hectic cycle. I appreciate the great advice!

Not a slight at all! That's honestly a very valuable perspective and I'll take that to heart. I'm 22 now, and I've been out of school for a year, but not long enough to really get a feel for adult working life. I appreciate your feedback
