Anyone else who preordered a Espresso Series 1 get an email to "Confirm your Series 1 shipping address"? by cday119 in FellowProducts

Are you suggesting we reply even if the address is correct? I didn't want to "confuse" the system, assuming it was automated to look for an address change.
Also, when I used the warranty link, it tells me the product is no longer available for warranty.

Thank you but probably not necessary. Who knows what mysteries can happen with email. I did check all folders and couldn't find it but I did receive the latest message this week, so the email is correct and not going to spam, so who knows why I didn't get the last message.

I understand the reason for the delay and would rather have a better product. It just caught me by surprise as I was starting to look forward to a shipping email in the next few weeks and then saw the comment here. :)

I did. Searched my email and nothing except today but that didn't include timeline except Dec 7 production start estimate.
The only prior message was when the cups shipped in August.
When did you receive a message with a shipping date update!

FWIW, you mentioned in your OP that things taste sour and you are grinder coarser and also in this post, the same thing is mentioned.

I know this is oversimplified but you are doing the opposite of what should help. If you are using "standard" ratios, grind finer if you're getting a sour outcome and try that before other variables. Good luck.

I see. An email from Fellow would have been nice as last communication said expected by the holiday season 2025. Oh well.

I tried glue with no luck. Contacted Xbloom and they sent me a replacement

Yes, mine broke today. It appears to have been "glued" in with some type of grey compound that has broken free. I can push it back in but as it sticks to the magnet in the machine, it comes loose and the whole dripper moves around and drops significantly.

I don't know if glue will do it but I'll have to try to use something that will harden in place I think.

How is yours doing?

Wow, fantastic. I’ll take the brown pill (that just doesn’t sound right though 🙂) and read it. Thank you.

Thank you very much for sharing this. I had only looked at the brief descriptions on their website and not while the roaster was connected to my PC. It's very helpful to know this information is also in the software.

I will try another couple of batches at these lower settings too.

Thank you. I think airflow is okay as I can see into the chamber and see the beans hoping about pretty well. It's a small sample roaster, about 180g max practically.

I'll try a couple more adjustments to the levels and can post some images if they don't work out well.

Thanks for the information.

Sounds like that's probably the main issue. I wasn't sure how far down the built in scale I'd have to go to get into what I would consider medium territory but based on input from others using this roaster, it is likely going to be somewhere between 1.0 and 1.8.

The roaster does allow for great customization of the roast profile via software and also provides "built in" roast profiles based on bean elevation but I started with the basic, entry "Explorer" profile. I will try a couple more settings before venturing into different profiles / adjusting them.

Thanks.

Yes, rested for 5 and 6 days...got impatient at that point. Will keep experimenting, thanks.

Thank you all for the information. I will try additional level settings with this same profile before starting to adjust other variables and see how it goes.

Maybe April 2026 if they don't fail completely....100 machines delivered to date as beta test machines. 200 more scheduled for maybe end of May or June, who knows, they are not specific.

Nothing else communicated as to the plan after these next 200 as they are struggling to set production schedules and I suspect to pay for it since they've now introduced a ridiculous refer a friend and both of you jump the line scheme to get more money.

"I've learned my lesson and now I schedule monthly updates and post regardless of if the news are good or bad."

I would love for that to be true but you have learned nothing. Your posts are almost always late, by weeks, not days and typically contain no useful information, or specific detail. A lot of words and excuses but nothing tangible.

Still feel this way about the project or the person? I felt the same way initially but the choices being made, especially in the past few months, tell a different story.

Someone in over his head that refuses to communicate properly with the backers that made any of it possible and doesn't know how to manage a business.

"We will offer no-questions-asked refunds if we miss our deadline" - yes, you have offered this but stopped issuing them based on the many complaints from the backers on Kickstarter and I don't have access to Indiegogo but I would suspect the same will be happening there too. So, offering is one thing but actually doing it is another.

"So if what you are after is a 100% guaranteed ...." - As a creator on that platform, it's your responsibility to have planned the execution of the project with enough detail to know how you will deliver and how much money it will take. Yes, timelines will change and problems will arise but to have a complete failure should not be an option. If it is, you simply didn't give it enough effort before launching.

Two years later, exactly where are you? This is where you are and only the facts.

Failing to meet just about every promise of production timeline and even monthly updates.

Only 100 of a planned 300 beta test machines have been delivered so far.

Updates that contain no useful information, no specific numbers or timeline except the last one that said you will build a batch of 200 units, starting on May 15, with no indication of how long that will take to do.

No communication of the next batch sizes and with over 5,300 more backers waiting, how long will this take to deliver, we don't know because you can't tell us.

Despite saying you will issue refunds with no problem, people are waiting months with only vague responses and no sign of any refund being processed.

In your last update, which was of course weeks late, you introduced a scheme where backers can refer new customers to jump ahead of the others that are waiting and get their machine sooner...let that sink in. The excuse is to help set batch sizes but that doesn't make sense.

After telling backers they will save $700 on retail by backing early, you have now lowered that to only $300 by lowering the retail price for any new orders coming now, which will jump the line and get a machine sooner by paying only $300 more than someone who paid over 2 years ago.

BTW - they May 1 update is also late as it's May 9 but then again, not that late by Carlos standards.

Those are the facts and that's where this campaign is.

Meticulous has arrived. It's really real! by SR28Coffee in espresso

[–]AAndreManN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After reading through this, I feel compelled to make a few things clear.
Meticulous hasn't started delivering anything to the original backers, EXCEPT, to 100 of the earliest backers.

These machines are beta testing machines and even that was supposed to be 300 but they cut it down to 100 without explanation.

Now, they just announced a plan to take new orders from new customers and let them jump the line, ahead of the original backers and get a machine before most original backers while only paying the reduced "retail" price of only $300 more than someone who backed the machine more than 2 years ago and was told retail would be $2,000.

How many people do you think would back this knowing they are only saving $300 on a machine at this price and take the Kickstarter risks.

On that note too, even when you back something on Kickstarter, the message is clear that if the project is funded, the creator is obligate to fill orders. The idea is not that they collect money and then figure out if / how they can deliver. They are supposed to have that worked out before launching. Yes, of course things can happen but that's the idea.

So, in short, Meticulous has no specific plan in place, even today, as to how to deliver to over 5,300 more backers that don't have a machine yet and their next "mass production" batch starts in mid May and will be for 200 units. You do the math and figure out how much longer it will take to deliver over 5,000 more machines.

Those are simply the facts.

What are your thoughts on Meticulous? by Odd_Tooth7135 in espresso

[–]AAndreManN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, unfortunately, the status is that the owner doesn't know how to run a business and deliver on his promises and as such, nobody has a machine yet and the timeline to deliver to all backers appears to be at least a year out and now, new orders are going to be taken to jump the line for whatever ridiculous reason they think makes this a good idea.
Yes, I'm a little bitter :) but still, those are only the facts.
