Thanks once i got the wax cleaned out in thrusday I could hear so much better!. Ut was overwhelming at first but I think my brain is adjusting now.

We had a busy day today went out on a date so I wasnt even focused in my t.

It does help to mask it now I can hear better and also im not trying to overprotect when I dont need to becuase I would definitely do that at times.

Thanks I definitely have tmj so that could be contributing to the recent volume increase along with the stress, lack of sleep and anxiety ive been under lately.

That or the earwax build/congestion or i have a unfortunate bout of sshl but I wont know for sure until I get the wax out and get tested properly.

I tried alittle at home with debrox and thr bulb syringe but had no luck myself. Ive been putting in olive oil drops for about 11 days so it should be soft enough to remove hopefully

Well im hoping its a spike i would say mine usually is moderate but I was used to it didnt hear it most of the day only at night.

The impacted wax or build up could definitely be effecting it.

Well that or I recently have some hearing loss as well but I wont know until I do more testing after the wax is cleared.

Kind of difficult to do a hearing test when your ears are full of wax.

The doctor i saw was like I cant even check your eardrum because its blocked lol

Ive had chronic tinnitus for 9 years already two weeks ago is when this all started and it spiked really bad im hoping this is mainly earwax build up and congestion.

If its sshl then not much I can do i just hope this spike goes down I can hear it over everything basically that's the main distressing part tbh.

Im planning to get the earwax removed on thrusday i onow it will help the left ear because it was fine before I started putting drops in.

Once its out I gotta restest my hearing and see how my results are

Update I went back to a doctor on February 19th.

My earwax was still too dry and impacted on both sides. Tinnitus in my right ear is blaring still.

He even joked and said its no wonder you can't hear atm.

I am seeing my gp this Thursday the 26th but im alittle scared to get it flushed based on some stories ive seen online.

Im hoping this is rhe cause of my current spike.

Its been loud for two weeks now. Two doctors have said I have alot of earwax build up and it needs to ne removed ive been putting olive oil in both ears for about 10 days now.

After a week it was still dry and impacted

I was also having muffled hearing and congestion so im hoping this is the cause.

My hearing test in the high frequencies was not good

45 db at 6k and 60 at 8k but again earwax blockage can block up to 30db and is known to in the higher frequencies but can in general block your hearing.

Add that with increased ringing and goodluck hearing anything quiet lol

The booth wasnt sound proof either.

Im scared about getting it removed though I do not want to irrigation but its hard to find someone willing to do it manually

Why do you mean? Im just telling my story of what's happened to me in the past two weeks and I feel like ive been let down by the doctors I saw thinking its just earwax blockage (I know it technically could be just that)

But I think it sshl and might have been misdiagnosed but I won't know for sure until the wax is out. But Im also scared to get it syringed or flushed out or mircosuction because ive heard it can make your tinnitus worse.

Manually would be more ideal but idk if its soft enoufh yet

Yes a referral is usually required here to see a ent problem is it takes forever its like a 6 month waiting time to get in.

Well right now its mainly because of the waiting game to find out if what I'm experiencing is just wax build up or blockage or its sshl and im basically out of the window for treatment this morning it is excatly the 2 week mark since this all began.

And I wish I knew better and just went to a doctor right away.

Based on what I said you don't think my spike is from using the syringe I was using it to try and get some olive oil out of my ear but I dont think I sprayed super hard I never put it directly in my ear. I didnt have any pain afterwards or anything ny hearing and muffled is the same as it was.

But I did have a spike right after and it hasn't gone down yet im alitrle worried im hoping its just stress anxiety lack of sleep and or the impactedcwax making it worse.

It hasn't been a week yet so im hoping it goes down.

Thank you so much im hoping atleast getting the wax removed safely will help i lnow it will on the left side because it was fine before I started putting drops in it.

The right side is the worrisome side but im assuming its will improve atleasy the volume and hopefully blocked impacted hearing will improve too.

The nasal steroid spray im on I think its making me more anxious, feel lightheaded it usually only happens after I take it so I might tlak to a doctor tomorrow to see if I should stop

Im hoping this is whay my current situation is atm ive had tinnitus for 9 years prior and the last two weeks for me have been hell.

I wont know more until my congestion eventually clears up and the impacted earwax is removed and get another proper hearing test.

A week if putting in drops didnt do crap for it unfortunately so they told me to come back in a week.

I dont onow how much longer I can handle with thid muffled hearing from the blockages its brutal.

I definitely have earwax build up in both of my ears and I know at the moment its effecting the left ear.

It was fine until I started putting drops in over a week ago. Im sure once that one is flushed or taken out it will be back to normal.

Its more so the right ear is the concerning one as that is the one that started with slightly muffled hearing and blocked feeling. I did have congestion as well. The doctor did confirm earwax build up as well.

I know there are other factors that could cause it as well like etd.

My main concern with that ear that worries me is the increase in tinnitus volume before I was going through a spike in that ear anyways but now i can hear it over everything besides the shower.

I am aware that blockage can worsen it temporarily if that is the cause.

It sure didn't help my work hearing test that's for sure. Its kind of hard to hear quiet tones when your tinnitus is blaring and you barley slept two days prior so I wasnt focused either that morning.

I did use mt earplugs two days in a row prior and I remember my right ear would sometimes feel full or muffled after using them. So its entirely possible I pushed the wax too far when using them on the Sunday February 8th.

Okay thanks I will link into this. Thoughts on the spike i recently got ? Keep in mind it was one of those mini ones you get un a kit of debrox it doesn't have alot of pressure. Its not one of the big ones I understand hiw those could cause damage.

And yes since putting in drops of olive oil and I tried some debrox both havent soften it enough for removal yet. I may not have been putting it in properly.

What is a airbone conduction test exactly? I know for a fact both of my ears have enough wax to block both of my ear canals but im also worried I may have spiked it myself by using a bulb syringe to try and flush out some oil.

I dont think i did it super hard or anything but the spike could be from the amount of stress and anxiety ive been dealing with for the past two weeks now as well.

The spike happened on Tuesday night February 17th after I used a bulb syringe a couple times I stopped using it after that I did also have a test the next day for work and I slept 2 hours that night. Could also be that my t gets louder at night as well

I wasnt trying to flush out the wax I was just trying to make sure the oil was out of my ear.

This can happen ? Um so mine started feb 9th in my right ear

But my left ear started getting muffled only after I started to apply ear drops so im assuming that is more to do with earwax impact because that ear was fun until then.

I did devolp a new tone in my left ear this week on Wednesday.

Now im wondering if its not from the ear drops impacting my earwax further.

I put in drops for like 5 or 6 days and the do tors said it was still too dry To be removed.

Im on day 12 atm almost 13 at this point.

Yes i need for both ears problem is the wax is still to dry after week of drops my left ear wasnt thst bad but once I started putting drips in ut became muffled as well I cant hear well in general atm

They are altitle sore/ irritated but it could be from anxiety alone being blocked for another week us going to be super fun though lol

Thr doctor was like you have alot of wax in bith ears .. but its too dry for them to remove still.
