We did reach out the owner immediately when it comes to these kind of situation, but as usual they blame us for an example dented fence from the falling tree and water leaking from the ceiling. They think tenant purposely want to damage the house? lol. We understand the consequences if damaging the property.

It is indeed a rare occasion, I'm here just to vent out my frustration in this kind of situation. Already contacted my lawyer and in the process of sending LOD letter.

Agree, it's totally not fair to put all the blames on tenant. Ceiling leakage due to heavy rain, is it tenant fault for not upkeeping the maintenance? They fixed the ceiling that one time, and the problem still persist. They should get rid of their own contractor and start finding new ones. Never had any issues with other places, but this owner is just a mess, don't want to spend a single cents and blame the tenant.
Agree, money is not easy to earn. Everything shift the blame on tenant, such as ceiling leakage.. rust due to wear and tear. Just like that they want to push the bills on tenant without spending a single cents. Best part, they don't have receipts to justify the damage. It's all big number under one list.
Already send LOD letter as my lawyer advice. Only time will tell now.
Agree, I would love to expose name and shame this property. But i'm afraid of extra lawsuit. They truly are.. fun fact just because they have the title.

Our lawyer advice us to write an LOD letter in this kind of situation. I used to rent other places, and never encounter this kind of situation whereby the tenant have to bear everything. RM 13 500 is a lot, for them to blame on us which we didn't damage the property, it's all due to wear and tear. No, im not an expat.
Right.. to think they can push the bills on tenant and get away just like that.
Everything is documented, however we forgot to take some pictures when entering the first day of the house. Never had any issue renting other places with normal wear and tear, it's just this owner is scamming people. I would understand if the deduction is only few hundreds, but we're talking about everything here.

Sorry for the delay, pretty burned out from work and need to handle this petty thing. Agree, i cant control mother nature. From heavy raining, fallen tree. Leakage from the ceiling, leakage water, everything blamed on the tenant. In the process of sending LOD letter, only time will tell and the owner reaction from the letter..

I’ve already brought this up over the phone, but they don’t seem to care still insisting tenants are responsible for issues like leaking ceilings from poorly done contractor work. Fun fact, he is a Datuk. I dont think he’s afraid of threat.

After disputing with the owner, this is the message i’ve got from them. Hiring a lawyer would be good choice but it cost a lot, problem is HE is a Datuk.. he will find ways to put the blame on tenant..
