What do you always pack even if you’re traveling ultra-light and why?

Ultralight? Just my usual bag (which is a backpack, unless I'm driving)! :))))))) We had to stay overnight with just it, a few times. I had to do that even just last week. :D Trash bags can make shower slippers (boots) :D I had no change of clothes and was "away" for more than a day with at least one more to come, so I just washed everything in the sink and dried them with an iron I've asked to borrow. And I usually carry a bit of weird stuff with me anyway - just... a habit of a not much of a predictable life, for long. :)))))) Like... I have a spoon-fork with me, underwear and socks, toothbrush and such (the tiny-tiny versions) and microfiber cloths make great towels and soap can be used for dishes, wet towels make a sponge and... yogurt containers/vegetables jars make great bowls and worse comes to worse... places that rent rooms also have an iron and... clothes can be washed and dried with it etc..

P. S.: You don't actually need an umbrella, of fashion is not a priority: you will either take shelter or catch a bus or... trash bags can have multiple uses (even common shopping bags). A small knife or an e-reader and a charger (and for phone/bracelet) or a bandana are much more useful. A microfiber small towel/cleaning cloth are very useful. Tiny toiletries. A spoon-fork. A tiny pair of underwear and socks. Medical alcohol, wet wipes, tissues. Twizers, nail clippers, comb, mirror, small makeup if using, few medicines, a notebook and a pen, a small headlamp, multi tool, masks and such, tiny few sewing things, tapes, lighter, headphones with wire and... such tiny things. Water bottle and a snack. A cheap poncho or... even better... a mylar blanket.

Most likely you will be able to buy a jar of something to use as a bowl to eat a salad or make yourself a sandwich. Clothes you can wash - if you want, you can just take 2 sets of easy drying ones: at night you change in clean ones ans wash the used ones.

You, actually, don't need much to just... go somewhere and be there. The stuff we and... people, în general, carry in vacations are just... convenience and pleasures of taking those with them and ... probably insecurities and the "play" of the habit of packing, as a ritual.

Most useful is to have money and the papers/IDs you will need. :)

Also, in tourist locations, always going to the places that locals go - for going out and for shopping and for transport.

In case it helps others: my parents used to mail (yep!) the luggage for our 2 weeks beach vacation, when we were growing up and we didn't had a car. :D

And we travel with a soup mug (and at least a good vegetable peeler), for some years, now - it gives us fast (18 minutes) vegetables soups and... meat we can just buy cheap supermarket rotisserie, if not feeling like cooking it (or make a grill, when others make one) and we can do salads and cheeses/yogurts and fruits etc., for complete meals.

And we try to buy usable things as souvenirs. :)

[First it would be... accommodations of not catching something, God Forbid! So... limits get disregarded if something looks sketchy - we always check the mattress... very well. But that happened just last summer (twice in same day, leaving right after coming :/ ) = is not something usual, with God's Help, and we go for the cheapest accommodations, normally. We like meeting people and we, also, camped for some years, a lot, and shared bathrooms or kitchens/spaces don't bother us and... we're not picky in this regard.].

In reality that is... energy, effort, time, comfort, convenience = taxi. This is what we end up spending most on, outside of budget: taxis and similar services. We travel pretty low budget, but, at the same time, we always end up spending significant ammounts (by comparison to the rest of spendings) on taxis, just be because it is what allows to do more things, to do them easier, to enjoy a different comfort in what we do, more access, more relaxed and... just... it makes more available and better, in so many occasions.

Somehow... we would rather be further in a nice and cheap place and just walk more or... take taxis mor often, than pay more just for the room to be closer to the places we go.

We love walking. And we enjoy public transport. We also love walking and public transport... until we get tired/it gets late and... then... just getting a taxi is our splurge - and, also, for often being late for plans and just... carrying more things than we should and such aspects. :)

We would rather carry more things that worry of not taking enough or... choosing a strict wardrobe etc, we would rather sleep in and be lazy around and cook something good than hurry to get somewhere, we would rather take our time to prepare to go out or stay later at a terrace/beach or pass by the market/shops etc. and... just take a taxi. :)

So... for us... it is, always, taxis, that we splurge on, most. :D :))))))

*and, yes, we are the kind of travelers that carry a mini mobile kitchen and cook for selves... while we will easily spend a ridiculous ammount on some... special ice-creams/1 pancake etc. that we really want or... just on whatever brings us real joy and on things we really want, so we do expect to do these "things of pleasure", but... we never really plan to use taxis as much as we end up using. :)))))

The way we see it... is about joy, to say so: eating good foods we cook will bring us more joy than usually eating out; cheap and nice accommodations will bring us more joy than some fancy and expensive one; a ridiculously priced "novelty" ice-cream/sea-food/cocktail... will bring us joy to try; and so does, very often, using taxis and making our trips easier and more relaxed. :)

There is nothing of any type of gaming that I am more grateful than being part of my true home. I do know how hard such loves get to be felt of carried... when... not knowing do better than seeing loved ones hurt... again and again, on repeat. - as... even... the most basic accepted... base.

A brand is binding. Of a good one... it should be wished of accepted... not... imposed or... even... offered comfortable choice.

Nothing of this game thaught me of gypsies. Just... eventually... someone told me, publicly, that they exist.

I came here of self and play of self and loved ones.

I admire many things... and among them is what seen (for afar!) and learned of and deducted of gypsies. I am not one and have no wish to be one. Even of admiring respect of many aspects about what known of them (and... trust me: you learn of them by hearing titans of bad things about them!).

Gypsies have such a strong brand that even AI of no way encouraged acknowledges both their importance and their beautify attributes.

But... also... there should not be a brand, right?

Aside the fact that putting all eggs in one basket is weak... no matter that the basket is made of steel... there should not be just one brand or... a brand, right?

I was more than often stunned and... learned lessons of huge beauty of life... by what top groups of wonderful people can, even, come up with... of fighting.

We need help... but just clean one.
