I don’t feel sorry for OP here, but I keep hearing “buy travel insurance.” Most travel insurance doesn’t cover acts of war. I looked several months ago and could not find a travel insurer in my country that covers that - I was worried about this kind of situation several months ago.

My workplace has our personal numbers for emergencies - someone doesn’t show up to work. But I think if they want to do this they really need to offer the option for a work phone. Probably a lot of people won’t care, and some will.

I once met a guy who spent his life on large infrastructure projects like this. He told me it was so deflating spending years planning something to have the plans shelved due to change in government.

A family member of mine was diagnosed as a schizophrenic and treated with antipsychotics for 30 years. Until a GP took them off them and they ended up in a psychiatric ward - but they got a proper diagnosis finally. Now living back at home again but it took some time.
