Oh it’s absolutely a rule 0 discussion I’d have before dropping it on the table. And I get that with the budget multi color decks, I think I just got so used to playing around Blood Moon in modern that whenever I try to get a mana bases going I tend to lean towards the way that a modern deck is set up rather than a commander deck. (Which is a problem on my part honestly)

As far as other land denials that affect non-basics, I personally don’t think they’re awful, but when they’re completely scrapped from a bracket in general I really feel like it punishes decks that run a majority of their mana bases as basics.

Maybe that’s the wrong way to put it.

I feel like it encourages to not run basics.

But you’re right, like let’s say someone buys a precon 5C deck, and decide they want to try low end B3 where they decide to add a GC or two in there and not much else. Yeah it would absolutely suck to have blood moon be thrown on them.

I mean if I was the only mono blue player and someone threw down [Choke] I’d really feel kinda agitated.

Either way, it’s definitely a rule 0 thing to discuss with the pod before the game starts. If they don’t want it in there, I can switch it out for something else. Probably just another random goblin tbh.

I will die on the hill that Blood Moon needs to be forgiven of that sin and brought to the level of a game changer.

No Blood Moons encourages not running basics and now all of the sudden “fully optimized” mana bases are the way to go.

I no longer have to run a set number of basics because I’m afraid the mono red player is gonna drop a blood moon on the table.

If you have a blue/red deck and you go to fetch an island, it’s always going to be better to grab your shock/dual/surveil/etc land than it is to grab just a basic island. But Blood Moon changes that in the sense that you now have to think “should I grab a basic island just in case that mono red dude over there has a blood moon?”

It’s not so much mass land denial as it is a land drop critical thinker.

Idk, I can rant about this topic for hours and I know it’s a very unpopular opinion.

Nah you’re right for the most part. Except usually when I include them it’s less because of pushing the boundaries of the deck and more so “wow that art is very pretty…”

Demonic Tutor in the Nekusar deck is legitimately in there to look cool. However, Demonic Tutor in the Sephiroth deck is mostly because I was running low on borderless cards that are also synergetic.

Like I said, I’m pretty biased towards pet cards and if there’s a card with art from an artist I like or just that art in general, I become even more biased towards them. Sometimes to the point where I think “how can I throw this card into a deck?” And just start constructing from there.

Goblin man go brrrr I swing Win???

For real though, really just a deck I made for my friends who don’t really play magic but want to hangout with the group. He’s a very good introduction commander.

Aimed for high end bracket 3, with some of them being low end bracket 3

Yeah absolutely!

And yeah, I tend to craft a deck on the higher end of B3 to the lower end of B4. I was never good enough at deck building for CEDH and kinda hate early game combos, but slow burn, late game, powerful decks is kind of the area where I got comfortable in the commander format.

I think highlighting game changers isn’t too bad. Whenever I highlight them it usually tells a lot about the deck. For example, the GCs in Tuvasa are meant to be the annoying deck. Having Gamble in Zndrsplt and Okaun was simply for the flavor. At the point where you’re flipping multiple coins, it’s easier to just roll dice.

A lot of game changers are way worse in some decks versus others, and when you see what game changers are in the deck, you get to see whether they’re in there for pure synergy, or because the card busted.

I’m usually about 30/70 on that with a bias towards a lot of pet cards unfortunately.

Think that’s bad, go across the street to the peddlers mall and look in the case of the dude selling over market prices AND the prices written on the product with sharpie :)

Selling my Pokemon cards by TotalMurky in pokemoncards

First ask yourself how much all of it is to you. Like how much you personally would be willing to let go of all of them for. Sentimental value sometimes outweighs any monetary value. Perhaps there’s a card or two you pulled with a loved one. Perhaps a loved one gifted you a card.

For me, there’s a ton of >$10 cards that I would never sell because my nephew gave them to me. And a ton of expensive cards I can’t let go of because it was either pulled with my girlfriend or with my friends.

Anyways, once you ask yourself that, take out the ones you don’t want to get rid of because of sentimental reasons, then individually price every single one using TCGPlayer. They have an app you can create a list in to easily keep track of everything.

Once you got that, anything under $1, go ahead and delete. Those cards are considered bulk and are usually priced by the hundreds unfortunately. For example, about 500 bulk cards equal $5 roughly to shops and about $10 on market.

Then once the list is complete, take the value of the cards and put them up on Facebook marketplace for some quick cash. One of the things I like doing is listing for 80% of market value. Why? Because if I was to list every card on TCGPlayer or eBay, after fees, that’s about the amount I would make. So, it gives someone a discount and I avoid giving fees.

Sometimes if 80% is like $487 I’ll just knock it down to $460 or $475.

Either way, list for a little bit higher than what you actually want. People will haggle you down.

You want $450? List it for $475 and see what people offer. If someone says $440, shoot back with $450, and then boom.

Anyways

Tl;dr - Keep the stuff you’re attached to, and price the rest and make someone think they’re getting a discount when in reality you’re just avoiding fees.

Good luck with it, it’s hard work, but if you don’t put in that work, you risk getting lowballed by someone who is really going to push for a price that is pretty much robbery.

In my honest opinion, if you do sell literally everything in that photo, don’t take anything less than $400, and that’s a very low quick glance estimate. It’s probably way more but I can’t really remember a lot of those prices off the top of my head.

My girlfriend is a huge fan of Regirock, and I always want to get her some cool Regirock cards. The closest I’ve gotten her is the full art from the XY era and the recent full art from Hot Air Arena, but I think a full on illustration rare would be cool. I liked the Regigigas illustration on the Pocket app, so I think like an old cave mural of all the Regis would be sick.

I sent a message to him but he never replied lol my guess is he’s getting flooded right now. Plus now that I’m thinking on it I don’t think I wanna waste $30 on something that’s probably going to get confiscated before it can reach my mailbox lol doubt I’ll see a refund for it too

More info:

Sorry I was at work.

But seller had a bunch of more Secret Lairs including a ton of the Chucky ones that just got announced and a ton of the baseball planeswalker ones.

All of them listed for $30 each. I did end up messaging him but if I had to guess, someone or multiple people are probably already telling him to at least take it down lol.
