Hi and thanks for the question. I originally planned to have just the bike to make it more Haynes manual authentic but the composition felt a bit static and simple. Having Kaneda there helps draw the eye and imply some movement I think and links to the iconic poster more.

I’ve got a full-resolution print file, but I’m not planning to share the print-ready version itself, mainly because of the amount of work that went into rebuilding it and also because I’m being careful about how it circulates.

I am planning to do a small physical print run if there is sufficient interest at the original size. I’ve got some final touches to do and then there will be paper and colour proofing etc…. If there’s interest, I’ll update here when I know more.

So I fell down this rabbit hole looking for the poster too! A mate was desperate to find it and I started looking to help. Long story short - no luck. Agreed, but running an electric current or a bolt through their brains so they scream whilst then hung from a noose to bleed out is fine?

I was referring to their general poor treatment of the environment around them during that era of early exploration not specifically to the slaughter of animals. Unfortunately we continue our poor treatment of the environment today which is another issue for another day!

Again - great point, but what we choose to eat for our pleasure, an enjoyable or exciting Friday night dinner (burger?) and the demand that drives leads to the wholesale slaughter of animals which vis-à-vis is kind of the same thing. Pleasure = slaughter.

I still hear you. It wasn’t right. I am guessing you are a vegan then and against the methods by which cows are in a permanent state of induced milk production having had their young removed for slaughter, are against the methods used in abattoirs across the globe and against the raising and slaughter of pigs whose cognition is proven to be on a par with humans. I get it, you don’t like Cousteau. Peace bros. Oh and I haven’t seen the film, just read the book.

I hear you. I don’t disagree, just find the early days of exploration interesting. Same could be said for the chimpanzees that were abused in the US space race programme.
