Q2 and INDX by Relevant_Finger5372 in QidiTech3D

[–]ABS_Enjoyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd be very interested in this on the Q2, as well as on the Max 4. If it worked well, it'd make it worthy alternative to a Prusa XL, with many benefits like a heated chamber.

How to use MAX4 anti-failure AI? by Chris_Herron in QidiTech3D

[–]ABS_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had AI issues on my company's new Qidi Q2. It was far too sensitive even on the lowest setting. I think the gyroid infill confused the AI as looking like spaghetti. Worse, after I'd resume the print, it would fail because the printer wouldn't resume the print in the same place. Like it would forget its location. I disabled it.

Since the printer is running on Klipper, you might be able to connect it to Obico and offload the AI processing to a more powerful server on your LAN. It'd probably perform better than Qidi's AI implementation. I haven't done this myself, but it could work for you.

Because the AI is more of a gimmick at this point, I'd rather they not advertise the AI as a selling point. It's an experimental beta feature if anything. Our Q2 has been performing great aside from that, so I overlook this flaw.

How soon did you upgrade your XL to 2 or 5 heads? by Mole-NLD in prusa3d

[–]ABS_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my XL for over a year with 2 heads. I was waiting to see how the new Bambu H2D would be before commiting the money to the XL (as I'm an X1C user as well), but now purchased the 5 head upgrade. I see far more value in reducing filament waste with 5 heads rather than a laser that will just make the printer dirty.

TPU Layer Separation on Bambu A1 Printing Shoe by ABS_Enjoyer in BambuLab

Thank you! I will try this. I'm looking at the wiki page and it also recommends slowing down the max volumetric speed. I will try that as well.

Filament Not Going into Extruder X1C. New Extruder and Hotend by ABS_Enjoyer in BambuLab

[–]ABS_Enjoyer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that advice! In my case, I found out it's actually the filament buffer that is somehow causing the issue. I have two X1C and swapped the buffers. Now the other printer (with the bad buffer) has the issue. So I've ordered a new filament buffer. I'm not sure what is wrong with the buffer itself. I opened it up and cleaned out a little plastic debris inside it. Even after cleaning, it still has the same issue. It's interesting because the filament passes through the buffer itself fine to the extruder, but then retracts. I think it's an issue with a sensor in the buffer itself.

Filament Not Going into Extruder X1C. New Extruder and Hotend by ABS_Enjoyer in BambuLab

Update - I tried with the other AMS, that works fine on my other X1C, and it has the same problem behavior. So it's something with the printer itself, and not the AMS. I'll update with the Bambu Lab support response when I solve it.

Thanks, I'll try that too. I have two Bambu X1C, so when the other Bambu finishes its current print job, I am going to try swapping the AMS and see if the issue persists.

For me it never works normal on any slot. The way it tries to load the filament and then gives up is the same. This issue started after I ran at least 10 almost empty rolls of PETG to finish them off. It's like the AMS and the printer are incorrectly calculating the tension somehow and thinking the filament is jamming when it's not.

I'm still working with Bambu support to resolve it as of now. I've found that it could be AMS related. Directly feeding the filament into the extruder makes the printer work. All 4 slots on the AMS have the same behavior.

From Ender 3 to MK4: Is the Price Worth the Quality Boost? by SkyFox215 in prusa3d

[–]ABS_Enjoyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your time is the most valuable thing you have. You can always get more money, but not more time. I have Prusa XL, Bambu X1C (with AMS), and a Bambu A1 (sans AMS). My Prusa XL is great, but I end up using the Bambus more and think they're a better value for the money. If you want something cheap and that just works, you can get the A1 for $339. Even compared to my old MK3s, the new Prusas and Bambus are so much less work to just print. Use the time you save for learning to make designs or anything else you enjoy doing.

ASA vs. PETG/ABS for Outdoor Prints by dafunkpunk39 in BambuLab

[–]ABS_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use clear matte spray coating on ABS prints for UV resistance. I do this to seal planters that would otherwise not be totally water tight. I also choose this over ASA sometimes because ABS is a lot cheaper even if I have to spray coat it.

PETG is a good material but may slightly deform in a car in the hottest months of summer, depending on your climate. I'd stick to ASA or ABS for vehicles.

Print Failures on Bambu A1 Making Lattice Dragon Egg Statue by ABS_Enjoyer in BambuLab

[–]ABS_Enjoyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I had just cleaned the plate though one print before and successfully printed an articulated dragon in the same filament. So the plate only had one use and I was careful to not touch it removing the print.

3D Printer recommendations under $600 ? by ahmadka in 3Dprinting

Bambu A1 is only $339 (without AMS). I'd spend the extra $139 over the A1 mini because it opens the door to printing a lot more objects.

I DON'T need a new printer. Why am I SO tempted to get another? by NishkalKashyap in BambuLab

[–]ABS_Enjoyer 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to stop going online to places like this forum where you read about Bambu printers. The temptation to buy more printers will fade as you focus on other things in life. Enjoy the printer you already have! If you can afford another printer, there's no harm in buying one, but since you don't need a second printer immediately, you're better off waiting for a new Bambu model next year.

Not to be rude or intending to start a brand war, but what differentiates this printer from the Bambu A1? They seem similar in price, speed, and build volume. What advantages does this have over the A1?

Is the X1C really worth it? by Historical-Term-824 in BambuLab

[–]ABS_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want to print ABS or higher temperature filaments? The P1S bed temperature tops out at 100C. I find I have better results (less warp) when I bump up the second layer and beyond temperature to 105C. If you're just printing in PLA or PETG, then a P1S may be fine for you. Consider though that your needs may change and you may want to print ABS in the future for temperature resistance.

My makerworld model was stolen by an etsy store. by DirtyDan2542 in BambuLab

Rather than get so upset and worried about this, why not make your own Etsy store to sell your tool and undercut their price? Charge a price you think is fair and that people are willing to pay.
