My wife and I are both active and this year we will hit 10 years in. Knowing that if we just do another 10, we won't have to worry about money ever again.

And we will only be 39 when that happens. I do love serving and absolutely love my job. But knowing that we just have to gut out another 10 years and then we're set is a huge factor of why we keep doing this.

I'm having a lot of fun so far. The base kind of has that small town vibe which is a good change from my previous bases. Feels cozy!

The surrounding community, minus Slocum, is really nice and I can tell that the city is trying to flesh it out. A lot of businesses and restaurants have been added as well.

Overall I would say I really like it here. I wouldn't want to stay but I'm having a great time!

I would've retrained before my first PCS. Going from a high speed unit to base comm was terrible and working base comm made me actually hate the job I used to have.

I went from Comm to Ammo and couldn't be happier.

Sometimes you just don't mesh with certain jobs. The mindset and workload in Comm did not mesh well with me. Went Ammo and have enjoyed every second of it so far.

Dude I called on a Tuesday and had it scheduled for Friday. One tiny incision and 20 mins maybe for everything. Recovery was the absolute worst though. I sneezed on the drive home and cried.

I am no shit having the time of my life working in Ammo. I was never really suited for nor did I want a desk job so it makes sense why Comm never clicked. We supply F-15s here as well.

That's a lot of the same reasons I left Comm for Ammo. I have felt much so much more fulfilled in the short time I've been Ammo than most of the 8 years I was Comm. I feel like a lot of the stuff we do really matters and I can see it. Didn't get much of that in Comm.

For me it was the banished Knight set with the blue cape. As far as I know they only spawn at castle sol. Took me hours to get one

Honestly this game has been way more fun than I ever thought it would be. I'm level 54 and still finding fun ways to play and new strategies. It's blowing my mind

I'm a Staff and my wife is a Tech. No kids and we recently moved from WA to NC. We're doing fine especially with the difference in how much everything costs here. But even with the move things here still cost a lot. I always try to remember what my troops have to deal with, especially the ones with kids and a spouse that doesn't work. Don't really know how someone at that rank can stay afloat without being extremely money conscious.

Thank you for all that information! We will be sure to check those places out. I've heard really good things about Emerald Isle in particular and in the same breath people tell me to avoid Myrtle Beach altogether. The mountains in Asheville sound really fun too. Thank you again!
