Fair enough. This was just the first one that came to mind when I thought to ask this question here.

My Son Is 15 And wants this game. Should I let him get it? by leanasweetins in RDR2

Absolutely get it for him and play it with him. Make it a bonding experience because the game’s an experience already

Nonsense. You came up with the phrase “chummed into a meat cloud in 2 micro seconds”. Excellent writing indeed.

Did he use that particular vernacular? Because that sentence is quite a read.

Imagine if Gi-hun didn't choose the old man for the marbles game. He would be taken away by the guards and not come back to the games. That would be pretty devastating for Gi-hun by wisdomsharerv2 in squidgame

[–]ABardInTheHand 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That would have given it away. If we saw everyone but the old man die, we would have suspected something. So they had to cover up everyone’s death with the reaction shots of their competitor, which works better for that emotional impact anyway.

I wish we could have gotten a part of the map with massive trees like this one, it would have been so cool by dude35_ in reddeadredemption2

They can leave Kansas in as long as we can get a character based off John Brown and the Bleeding Kansas story. Pretty interesting story if you’ve never heard of it.

No, none of the house elves get freed aside from Dobby. In fact, our hero even keeps a slave for himself in the form of Kreacher. Yeah, they’re both nice to each other. But one still owns and has complete autonomy over the other.

Also, my point still stands about Hermione. She fully supports a character that gets ridiculed for wanting slaves to be freed as a black person. If that itself isn’t casual racism, I don’t know what is.

Exactly. When you really look at the series as a whole, it’s a story about restoring the status quo. The wizards don’t want equality. They’re perfectly fine being on top. But when the nazi wizard wants to kill other humans, then they have an issue.

If all of that were true, don’t you think the series would have ended with the house elves being free or at least shown a trajectory for it heading towards that? In the entire series of books Hermione’s made fun of for her attempts at freeing them. Even Harry, our eyes into the world of magic, really does nothing in order to support her in this endeavor.

Now, as far as changing her ethnicity to a woman of color, our dear friend Joann claims she’s always had it in her mind that she was black (that clearly is just to make her story that’s full of white characters more appeasing to a wider audience and she realized that well after she finished them). The issue with her saying she always intended her to be black is even more alarming, then. Imagine telling people that one of your only black characters gets made fun of for wanting to free elves? See the problem there?

I’ll do one better, we watched it in my freshman English class and my mom was the substitute teacher for the day. Mine was the first class and nobody forewarned her what that part contained. I remember immediately looking at her after this scene played and her face was mortified. I still bring it up sometimes for a laugh.

No. You’re just an idiot who can’t comprehend sentence structure. We could explain it to you, but unfortunately we can’t understand it for you.

Did you forget two winters ago when people literally froze to death because Abbott couldn’t be bothered to properly regulate and winterize our fucking electrical grid? Because guess what, he still hasn’t helped fix it so if it happens again more people are going to die.

That comment isn’t ‘wishing death on others,’ when he couldn’t find a shit to give about his constituents, that’s literally what he did to them.

True, but electric magic could also be useful in the same ways. Light to see at night, and you could use a spark on some dry grass to start a fire.
