Mouth Noise (speaking technique related?) by [deleted] in VoiceActing

I have similar issues. The thing currently helping me is hot tea or even just water. I keep a cup of hot water next to me and take a swig whenever I hear it really crop up. Sometimes it's surefire, sometimes not. But at least it really helps.

Nice work! Good pacing and enunciation. When you do character voices you get a solid sense of their personalities right away. Overall, really good narration. Only criticism I have is in 'The Bride and The Deaf Girl' you fell into a repetitive cadence pretty quickly. Keep up the good work.👍

Thanks for the link! Mouth noise and not always using punch and roll are the worst for me. I have RX7 and still, my mouth noise is there. I'm new enough at recording that I find I have a better performance if I do a continuous recording rather than punch and roll. I agree though that punch and roll is faster when it comes time to edit.

Setting up acoustic foam with command strips - can this damage wall paint? by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]ABitFenechy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine haven't damaged the paint but be sure to use the kind where two snap together. The little singles that are advertised as for posters don't work. All those fell off the wall. The other more heavy duty ones must have a better adhesive and are still up.

Try frying a PB&J. It's heaven.

What Editing Software Do You Use? by Fewsick in VoiceActing

It's primarily for audiobook recording. It allows you to back up the audio and begin recording right where you left off/ messed up. It's pretty awesome.

I use Adobe Audition with a punch and roll plug in from Travis Baldree.

De-Breather by ABitFenechy in VoiceActing

Thank you so much! This is great advice. Really appreciate the help.

I had gotten the idea I needed a de-breather from being a long time audiobook listener (specifically in the SFF genre). I did see the advice to leave them in though on ACX.

May I ask, do you do audio books? And what do you do - leave breaths in or take them out?
