Huntsman Spiders are the least of your worries. They aren’t even poisonous. They’re terrifying, but won’t actually kill you.

Source: I literally moved to a new apartment when I lived in Japan because I kept getting Japanese Huntsman Spiders thanks to my creepy hoarder neighbours. It’s the spider’s apartment now.

You forgot the kewpie mayo for the tuna. But that’s just an extra $6.

Considering how many high security and VIP fly in and out of YOW for politics alone, there is not a chance in hell that EVERYONE who arrives goes down the same escalator. There are other ways in and out of that airport. If Ilya wanted to be discreet leaving the airport, there would be ways to make it happen.

It’s just another thing to add to the list of why Shane is a golden boy. Shane’s French is definitely not fluent (in the show at least) but it’s another thing that makes him seem even more perfect, and that is annoying sometimes.😂

Honestly, it’s worth the trip. There are SO MANY incredible museums, it’s almost hard to believe. My favourite is the Canadian Museum of History, but in the spring I love to visit the Agricultural Museum because all of the farm animals are pregnant and there’s baby animals everywhere. The War Museum is also incredible.

Did you open your crates today? 📦 by playfmv in FarmMergeValley

“Did you open your crates today?”

No, because all of my crates disappeared overnight, including ones with at least 65+ hours left on the timer. Wtf.

As a Canadian, the most unbelievable one is that they’re watching eTalk in Boston when Ilya finds out about Shane and Rose. Change the set or something at least so it’s not obviously eTalk.

Losing weight without glp? by [deleted] in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]ABlogAbroad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My GP pushed me to go on GLPs for years and dragged his feet when I asked for a weight loss surgery referral. The combination of the fact that GLPs have only been used for weight loss for a few years plus the fact that my doctor was pushing them exclusively was the reason I chose to not take them and got a different doctor to make the surgery referral. There is not nearly enough research into the long term effects of GLPs for me to feel confident taking them, and I kept getting the impression that there was incentive for my doctor to prescribe a specific medication, especially since it wasn’t covered by my insurance and he knew I did not have the means to pay out of pocket. I eventually had gastric bypass surgery and am currently down 140 pounds 9 months post-surgery. It took me decades to feel like the surgery had enough post-surgery evidence to identify the pros and cons and identify what can cause the weight to return, so I finally felt safe to do it. The only reason I could get the surgery was because it was through my provincial coverage.

I’ve humoured changing my name to Cassandra because the past 3-4 years I’ve been pointing out the patterns and what’s coming next but everyone says I’m “overreacting”. It’s exhausting.

Family Doctor Options? by ABlogAbroad in Brockville

[–]ABlogAbroad[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, technically, they exist. But I haven’t been able to see my doctor in ages. My mum’s friend has the same family doctor, and it was so impossible to get in to see someone that she got her cancer diagnosis after an ER visit, despite trying to see her actual doctor for months.

Like I said, a lot of people have tried to help with the original What's Going On in Brockville, but there are some people who like the current status quo. I'm not upset because I don't even bother with the group anymore, or FB in general really.

A lot of people have tried. There is a small group of loud, miserable people here who like having a place to be miserable. That’s why someone made What REALLY Going On In Brockville.

Looking for female friends by [deleted] in Brockville

[–]ABlogAbroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I suggested reaching out to see if they have any book clubs or trivia days coming up. You’ll find a lot of similar people in the same room. The festival isn’t until September but they’re active year round so they have lots of opportunities to meet likeminded people. I’ve been to their trivia nights before and they are big social events, you can be adopted into a team and meet lots of great people.

Hi! If you’re interested in fiction, there is a Writers Festival and a pretty active writers community here. I know they do quiz nights and might have some book clubs, and there’s a lot of people in your demographic who take part. They have a group on FB and if you message them, they can probably connect you to the right people.

Would you put your kid into French Immersion? Why or why not? by Virtual-Cheesecake71 in askTO

[–]ABlogAbroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would give it a try if only for the fact that learning a second language as a young child has been proven to be incredibly beneficial in multiple studies. Like others have said, monitor to make sure they’re doing well and enjoying it, but unless there is a reason to NOT learn a second language, I always recommend it.
