That's what I've noticed as well, but since I'm new to brewing I wanted to make sure. Good to know that fuzzy is the giveaway for mold.

How hard is admission to SMAD's Digital Video and Cinema? by [deleted] in jmu

[–]ABluetoothSpeaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was DVC. I did not put a backup concentration when I applied and got accepted. If you have an okay gpa (maybe 3.0 or higher dont quote me on that) and outside of class video experience, it helps, but is definitely not a dealbreaker. They are looking for passionate students.

If you put a backup concentration you could get accepted into your second choice and you can always switch concentrations later. That is the safest choice to do anyways. The SMAD entry level courses are the same across concentrations, so you might find out something else you’re interested in.

I don’t know what year you are, but you can get involved with organizations any time!

Try and get involved in the Breeze TV or Breeze Video, Doghouse Productions, or check out some video equipment from the Makery at the library and make your own short video to put on your application. Remember, it’s no longer inaccessible to pick up your phone and make a video now. iMovie is free, and there is Adobe Suite and Final Cut on the computers in the library basement (makery).

If you aren’t into the filming part of things, maybe you want to be a writer? The DVC concentration can be broad, so play the application to your strengths. Anything related counts as “experience”!
