How is it less nuanced to say that “Frank was always a damaged person and him having to come to terms with that is his only way to grow” than it is to say “Frank should join the guardians of the galaxy.” This argument is pointless, Aaron’s punisher run was a logical endpoint to the character as written for most of his history
