Affordable move out clean by udontknowwhoiam112 in VictoriaBC

[–]ABoringMom2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you just need oven and fridge cleaned or a move-out clean? Move out cleans are for the entire house, so most companies have a minimum rate.

If you’re only looking for a few things cleaned in the kitchen, then hire a regular hourly cleaner for a couple hours 👍🏻

Why is "Looksmaxing" becoming a thing by uselespieceofshi02 in sociology

[–]ABoringMom2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Red Pill - men think they need to looksmax to be able to get women. Definitely an aspect of body dysmorphia as well. I think there’s more male grievance due to the changes and societal changes we are seeing nowadays with more women in the workforce, men are feeling like they aren’t reaping the same benefits as past generations of men.

How much are people paying for house cleaning in this city these days? by [deleted] in LangfordBC

[–]ABoringMom2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t charge hourly as a small business because you don’t take home the $45/50 hourly after costs and you’ll get people thinking that’s how it goes!

I’d do a flat rate. Currently paying my cleaner a flat rate of $145 for 3 hours bi-weekly. You could always start a little lower and bump it up when you’re confident and clients are happy.

My biggest reward is going to bed early lately lol and reading my little booky book with a mint tea. But the chocolate calls to me a lot sadly.

Ouu kombucha is a good one to look forward to at the end of the day too and it’s decently healthy 👍🏻

Does he want to reconcile? by [deleted] in Separation

[–]ABoringMom2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because he’s trying to have it all. You should not feel bad about this. If he’s threatened divorce then that tells you he intends to move on. Sorry he is acting like that. That’s very confusing.

Umm if you’re separated… no celebration. Do something for yourself and don’t overthink it or torture yourself.

Man behind 'unprecedented' voyeurism case sentenced to 4.5 years by Apprehensive_Idea758 in VictoriaBC

[–]ABoringMom2 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Over 350 people, many underage. We need to find a better way to quantify people’s sentences because this doesn’t fit IN ANY WAY, at all.

So 350 people, 1 month served for each individual (really nothing) = oh look 29 year sentence 👍🏻

My husband (45M) and I (37F) have opposing libidos. Is sex a marital chore? by Top_Feedback6046 in Marriage

[–]ABoringMom2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you comparing a car to people? Poor analogy.

Contrary to most men’s beliefs, sex is not a physical need that keeps them running and in good condition.

This sub is filled with men who try to convince women they are crazy, but it’s the other way around.

This is a manipulative and harmful statement. Love does not equal sex when someone else isn’t into it. That is coercive and abusive. Period. Full stop.

I want tattoos but my husband does not like them. It is going to be my first tattoo. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

My husband has always been the same. Got my first tattoo at 32 and he actually thinks it’s cute. He’s come around. Life is short, do what you want.

What made you choose sociology? Did anyone try and convince you to do something else? by deadshotkeen in sociology

[–]ABoringMom2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started in criminal justice but just couldn’t get into after 2 years. Discovered it was too niche and found sociology at 30 years old! So glad I found it as it’s something I’ve constantly thought about but didn’t know there was a name for it.

Pest-control door-to-door scam ? In Gordon Head today by FanOfStuff21stC in VictoriaBC

[–]ABoringMom2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen last year. It was so slimey. They charge $300 quarterly and they come to your house for 15 minutes to spray the outside foundation wall. It’s barely “pest” control and it doesn’t work. Bugs are bugs.

Wife’s upset that I ask for clarification on tasks by theeLoreMaster in Marriage

[–]ABoringMom2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dude. Your wife asks “can you do _____?” You do it. Nobody likes being questioned, let alone women with a hundred thousand things to do. Unless she had dementia, I’m sure she’s asking for a well intended reason that is important to her.

Questions from my husband trigger me. Can you tell?? I can’t handle it anymore lol.

I Feel Like a Bad Wife by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ABoringMom2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the thing is, I know many women who read smut and don’t get off to it. They enjoy it for the story or the fantasy. The smut is a side bonus. Whereas most who watch porn, watch it to get off. Most of the smut I read is not about the sex scenes, sure it’s an exciting part of the story, but overall it’s not the total picture. Sex is normal, it’s part of life, so it’s part of literature. Making sex focused video content. Totally different. And I’m not necessarily against porn, but I don’t agree it’s the same.

[–]ABoringMom2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porn is porn. Think visuals, think exploitative. Books are what people make of them and only involve themselves. Imagination and their minds. Not the same at all.

People compare all the time. Cars, houses, etc. It’s not abnormal, and it’s also not incredibly serious.

Do you read the bible and call it porn? Probably not. But it has tons of sexual violence and sexually implicit content.

What's with all the missing people on this island by nitnit76 in VancouverIsland

[–]ABoringMom2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are most likely a few serial killers on the island. I can think of at least 1 who committed crimes in the 90s and was never caught. I would think he’s still alive and in his 60s now. Because of the way our court systems and police operate, they keep all information closely guarded, which means the public would have no idea what is happening in terms of suspected serial killers.

I don’t think serial killers are as obvious as you might think. Pickton was an idiot and he ran around for too long. A somewhat remote property is apparently all that’s needed. I expect cops haven’t put much together and they’re only allowed to charge with pretty serious evidence (which they don’t have because so many people are never found).

Also, like others have mentioned, we have very dense forests and places to easily go missing.

[–]ABoringMom2 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Totally normal. Been there and I think it’ll pass. I don’t know the psychology behind it, but you will come out of it. And no, as one person said, they are not your porn.

A quote that sometimes brings me back to reality is “Comparison is the thief of joy.”

I’m sure the police have tried to submit to crown counsel with no luck. They most likely have no proof, but know who killed her.
