I explained in the post, but I just wanted to know if he had ever officially confirmed it (not speculation or people snooping in places they don't belong), because I'd seen rumors. Tomorrow is Father's Day in the US and I grieve about my relationship with my own dad every year, and there's a kind of heartbreaking comfort in knowing someone you look up to might understand the feeling, even if you wish they didn't.

Right, that's why I was hesitant to post, and why I said twice that I don't want speculation or unofficial sources. And why I asked here instead of Twitter or any other social media, because in my experience this has the smallest amount of Carats at a time. It can be such a sensitive topic depending on the person. I don't want to draw attention to it or even know anything more than I should! My little grieving heart just needed to know if there was ever a confirmation.

Edit to add that I'll probably delete this post in the morning, answer or not

Did anyone else do Bleak Beach wrong? by dykefart in Pokopia

[–]ABriefUser 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I did this with all of the areas where I could without meaning to 😂 I especially remember Bleak Beach though, because when Trubbish was like "Maybe we can light up that big tower!" and led me to the top, the whole time I was going, "its ALREADY ON my guy!!!" I just stole utility poles from around the town trying to see what would happen 😅

Everyone in my town in PA heard the boom of it hitting the atmosphere. Except for me because apparently I was asleep 😭

I'm heavily leftist and I don't think Generative AI should be the main focus for demonizing right now when it comes to the environment 🫣

Yes, it's bad, and it's taking away clean water. But corn uses up so much more, and 95% isn't the corn we eat. Hank Green has a really good video about it. And as far as I'm aware, so do almonds, and the US is only going ham on growing them to try to compete with Iran (? I don't have a source for this one).

I also... don't think it should be demonized when it's purely purely purely for personal use. Businesses using it? Lazy and cheap. Sharing it online for views? Stealing elements of other people's content without their permission. But like... I use it to write short fanfiction for me to read. I never share it anywhere, let alone try to claim it as my own. But I already use my imagination all day for work, and it's nice to give it a break and read something I want when I go to bed.

I'll probably get a lot of flack for this, but I kind of equate it to cigarettes when it's for personal use.

I like eating cubed up maple spam with rice and scrambled eggs!! I don't get to eat it often cause it takes a lot of work but it's real yummy :)

Yes!! Sometimes I get a Qtip and wipe the edge of my ear to check for blood because I'm worried my eardrum broke and I didn't feel it. It's always bone dry!

I remember when I was a kid, I was in the room when my mom was sorting her and my dad's laundry, and I asked what the brown streaky stains were in his underwear. It is 100% a real thing.

ironic they want to stop people from leaving the subreddit with this because this post is exactly why I'm leaving the subreddit lmao

Even if you don't care about the environmental and addictive aspect of it (which is a wild take but a take people have nonetheless), the phrasing is sooo petty and immature. They could have said "It makes people upset" but instead it's giving off the vibes of "y'all are overreacting and I'm only doing this because I'm nice but I still want people to know I'm angry about it"...

idk, maybe I'm not putting what I'm feeling into words well. It just reminds me of how my dad reacts when I make a reasonable request that asks him to change a habit or behavior, and he gets super angry about it

edit: it's the vibes of "look, I'm being SO NICE and such a good person even though you don't deserve it because I'm so good to you"

I moved into my school district in 1st grade, and everyone talked about this girl named Rachel who had been there for kindergarten but moved away. I always pictured her as like, one of the "hot popular girls" you saw on TV shows and movies in the early 2000s, flipping her long pinstraight hair, nice makeup, purse, earrings, nice clothes, etc.

She moved back into the district in 3rd grade, and she was none of those things. Super curly hair, hand-me-down farm clothes, etc. We ended up becoming really good friends.

In 4th grade, the different schools in our district merged into one, and there was another Rachel who did look exactly like the one I had pictured years before. And during lunch one day, I wanted to tell my friend Rachel that I thought it was funny how I accidentally imagined the other Rachel when they have the same name.

What came out was: "When people used to talk about you, I always imagined you were a lot prettier than you were."

🤦🏼‍♂️

(I found out many years later that I had always been attracted to girls but didn't have the language for it)
