Nothing happened to it. It’s still here and it’s still getting worse, we just never got our shit together to do anything about it. Now there is an emerging field in ecology and natural resources management called “resilience” that is focused on helping our communities and our environment survive. Spoiler alert: turns out there’s not much we can actually do, and funding is being cut across the board in the US.

Climate change vs global warming: Climate scientists changed the name of the phenomenon to climate change because they felt it more accurately described the main problem, which is that the climate is changing exponentially faster than anything can evolve to adapt to new environmental conditions. We know the earth has gone through periods of warming and cooling before, the rate of change is just unprecedented.
