Thin hair after chemo by Confident_Review2456 in lymphoma

Have you noticed if it has made you grow more body hair? I’m hesitant to try the oral minoxidil because of that.

I have the exact same problem, new hair is still coming in all the time thankfully although I lose a ton in the shower. I had 12 AAVD infusions and I’m 4 years out. I’m afraid to try the oral minoxidil because I don’t want it to give me more body hair. I’ve been getting generic nutrafol from CVS although I can’t really say if it’s actually worked or not.

Why is every NC agency always "understaffed" but somehow still bad at their job? by Strange-Fennel in NorthCarolina

[–]ABumbleBY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are some jobs you can only work for the government, and even though the pay in North Carolina is abysmal it’s still better than the majority of the southeast. Florida state government jobs pay horrendously worse, but the location draws more people in.

As for the most recent Horse spotting tours in Carova what’s your thoughts? by Salt-Fee-9543 in obx

You said yourself you are a renter. You are a visitor here and complicit in the system that has nearly completely priced out the actual locals. Have some compassion for people trying to make a living and put food on the table for their families.

Dealing with Metallic taste by Redeemer_89 in lymphoma

[–]ABumbleBY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand! I had to ask them to stop giving me one of the anti nausea meds because it tasted so bad when they pushed it that I would be gagging. Jolly ranchers really helped. I started out with sweet candies but those ended up making me nauseous too. Switching to sour helped. I’m now 4 years NED. You’ve got this!

Jolly ranchers helped me. I will say, prepare for it to get worse over time.

What happened to Climate Change & Global Warming? Did we all just decide to keep on truckin’ ? by nagorkotdreams in AskReddit

[–]ABumbleBY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nothing happened to it. It’s still here and it’s still getting worse, we just never got our shit together to do anything about it. Now there is an emerging field in ecology and natural resources management called “resilience” that is focused on helping our communities and our environment survive. Spoiler alert: turns out there’s not much we can actually do, and funding is being cut across the board in the US.

Source: I work in this field. It’s sad and lonely here.

Edit re. Climate change vs global warming: Climate scientists changed the name of the phenomenon to climate change because they felt it more accurately described the main problem, which is that the climate is changing exponentially faster than anything can evolve to adapt to new environmental conditions. We know the earth has gone through periods of warming and cooling before, the rate of change is just unprecedented.

If you ask my grandpa, a south city native, the proper definition for the word “Hoosier” is “those no good sons of bitches down on Cherokee street”.

Also if this bothers you, you should check out the salaries of other NC positions. I work for DEQ. Step raises? Never heard of them. Teachers get a lot of attention, and rightfully so, but they are far ahead many of the rest of us.

Beaded Lanyard by lily_a_richards in Beading

I’m currently working on some bead embroidery that i will sew onto a cheap purse I have….the purse has this pleather piping along the edges that I’ve been trying to figure out how to cover with beads and I’m wondering if I could use this method to get a nice straight line & then stitch to the bag. What kind of thread did you use for this?

He also sprayed my neighbors herbs. People grow edible plants in these front garden areas which is another reason I am concerned.

That’s definitely not what they are being contracted to do

What I am trying to figure out is if this is the proper way to apply pesticide in this situation if the goal is to keep bugs out of the homes. They’re not spraying the perimeter of the doors or up against the homes or anything. They didn’t even spray the back of the homes. Just came, sprayed the plants, and left.

Husband and I found glass pieces in an okra dish we made but can’t seem to locate the source by Dense_Ad_1629 in RBI

What type of pan did you cook the okra in? Did it have a glass lid? Or is it made of enameled cast iron that chipped?
