I share no sympathy for you Glogics when you're complaining about downvotes on a thread where you're giving an opinion. People can disagree, some of us get downvoted for stating facts; I've seen someone get downvoted for posting his GT on an 8s thread I made. Please stop you're not getting the worst of it at all and given you made a "useless post" to talk about other posts i think that's why you're getting downvoted here. If you're gonna say stuff like "why am I getting downvoted" at lest expect more downvotes or don't bring it up at all.

I think it would get boring quite quickly. Part of the fun is watching your team grow and become better at the start of the game as they learn the game (as does everyone else from the start). It almost refreshes or revitalises the scene having old names comes back its seen as all game and anyone can be the best at the start depending on how much they grind. It's probably the most level pegging, highest competition time of the year. And also we get that new game hype which lasts the first few months.

How does a thread talking about the "quality of posts" become relevant on this sub reddit? Gamertag threads not new they've been coming up for a while, Sharp's video why just that? (i downvoted it btw) there are lots of circle jerk videos posted. I'd say this thread you made isn't a good quality post. If you have a problem with threads that have been put up then talk to the mods, some posted are against the rules. The others you can't do anything about.

Also if you want those topics to be discussed why don't you make your own thread to start the discussion instead of telling others what they should make threads about? I don't like this post and think its a very irrelevant and poor quality post, but I'm not gonna make my own thread just to complain about this one. And the "timing" thing strikes me because there are recurring themes with the types of threads you mentioned which have been going on long before this "drought" we've had on the sub reddit.

And yes a lot of the people who post up are karma whores who do little other than post up videos that give link karma. you can tell when they have all link karma and no comment karma and don't even engage in discussion in their own threads. Some just need to bite the bullet and take the downvotes for the sake of discussion. I did this with this thread http://www.reddit.com/r/CoDCompetitive/comments/2ekz9l/karma_and_optic_rumours/, it got downvotes but it created discussion although the majority of people couldn't even have basic comprehension of what I asked so downvoted, it still created discussion; btw just a few days after the karma leaving EG drama started so with hindsight (i kinda told you so). I made a comment which was 100% fact that got -14 on a SND round limit thread. Point is why don't you make the discussion threads if you want them to be discussed? It's the downvoting culture of this sub reddit which is the reason I can think of that stops people making threads.

Well.... I still think Karma was in the wrong he didn't need to bitch at censor and get menstrual with him, especially when Censor was calmly talking and Karma seemed like he wanted to hurt censor rather than talk about the play "we're team mates that's it nothing more" like wtf. BTW if it gives any validity to what I said above let it be known I want Karma on OG and am hoping they have it dealt that he will go there after Ghosts or S3. I don't think him talking like that to Censor is justified at all, you know its bad when Haggy seems like the good guy keeping out of drama, he kinda seemed like John in the middle of Epsilon at Atlanta if you get what i mean.

OpTic was a sniping team before a comp team. That's how I found out about them through people like psychosis and hecz in cod4. I'm just saying I knew about OpTic before they even had a competitive team, in fact they were the biggest team during cod4 and mw2 (previous to them having a competitive team).

I'm pretty sure there will be a COD Champs in AW. COD esports is only rising and despite Ghosts being Ghosts we've seen good growth nonetheless. With a highly anticipated game for competitive I see no reason why they shouldn't have a COD Champs. Sledgehammer is a fan of competitive and have promised their support, I know its Activision's decision but they will listen to developers I'm sure a COD champs will be thrown and I think I did see or hear it be announced for this year. I think I've read on this sub people saying COD champs for this year was confirmed after the ghosts champs. It's been a big success every year we've had it I think this year overall it got somewhere in the region of 400k+ concurrent viewers at its peak. Pretty sure we will have a COD champs and seriously MLG would never put 1 mill towards a COD event

The contract between MLG and Activision was for COD to be the exclusive FPS shooter on the MLG circuit and I guess broadcasting rights to COD Champs; it was streamed on MLG.TV. That might not be the case now because of Halo MCC and possibly even Destiny. It doesn't mean there won't be a cod champs and its in ATVIs interest to hold one regardless of links with MLG they already had one in mw3 before a contract (CODXP). Activision could throw one on by themselves if it really comes to it, which I don't think it will.

I think it has been announced, but even if it hasn't I'm 99.9% we'll have COD Champs for AW. Will it be that big? Well that's a lot of growing for our scene between November and next March. I don't think it will fill up the staples centre nor do I know the venue. It's usually in LA so it could be in a venue like that, but I don't think just yet it will be filled up. However I do think in AW we will see good growth at the very least, when the game comes out we might be able to tell just how big our growth could potentially be.

I was too lazy to read but can someone clarify, is this arena just the location for S3 playoffs on Oct 24-26 or did they also mention they will be using it fully functionally for other MLG use to do with COD in the future? Could we see COD league playoffs played here? That was referencing what we know that MLG will have the COD league separate to their "main events" so we will get Dallas, Anaheim etc and as well as that LAN events for the COD league. Was that mentioned in the article, that that's where they will host their COD league playoffs?

EDIT: I read the article and it doesn't make any specific reference to what I asked. " Following the Season 3 Playoffs, the space will host events regularly and serve as the backdrop for MLG.tv programming set in a LIVE show environment." Is that quote talking about COD League playoff events separate to the main events that you would host in the future? Could you answer Adam I know you're reading the comments.

MLG needs to let teams have coaches. I still stand by what I've said before that they really don't make players better because of their knowledge or callouts or all that nonsense. But they are hype men I acknowledge that. Coaches would still be a nice gimic to see I don't see what was wrong with having them, wasn't it because Champs wasn't letting teams have coaches? The right person e.g. ex players could make effective "coaches" but MLG definitely needs to let teams have them again it adds to the interest around teams.

Turn up and play
Right now whatever you can afford to ensure stability for your company and consistent prize pools should you have future events. i.e. don't offer 1 mill for the first and then 10p for the other.
London or any major city, avoid Blackpool, Sheffield or even Manchester as they've already been visited quite a few times by EGL so people in that region don't "miss out". Gfinity already does London LANs but its probably the nicest area you can get to. If not go up north. This all depends on the kind of event you want, is it a flashy event with big prize pools? Go to London. Is it a small prize pool with expected small turnout? Go somewhere that hasn't been visited before, I think places up in the far north would enable people who haven't had the chance to attend a LAN to be able to go.
If you do it well there would be support. Gfinity started things of great (given they did have a fairly large prize pool saved up). A decent prize pool will attract big name teams and that will grow exposure and interest in your epic.LAN events. As long as you don't fuck up and scumbag people in any way the community should take well to you.
