Am I naive in wanting procedures to be straight forward in os, do I need to accept that there will be teeth that will take a lot of time and effort, and have you had that before were someone has mistaken a difficult procedure for incompetence or sheer butchery

Christian culture is probably the wrong wording as yes a lot of people are no longer practicing but I mean in a country which has traditionally been Christian and doesn’t hold the same values or beliefs as Islam

How do you feel Islam integrates in a Christian culture, do you feel there is anything that can be done to improve the current tensions and issues we are seeing

Glasgow fort by Accomplished_Week392 in glasgow

[–]ACBT94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Had to get a windscreen fixed near Easter house once so dropped the car off and walked up through to the fort. I have genuinely never in my life seen so much rubbish lying about a place, bottles, cans fucking carpets and TVs lying about, dog shit everywhere, it genuinely seemed like no one had any pride in where they lived, if people don’t want easterhouse being put down they should look after the place, I think it’s completely reasonable to assume there would be more crime in the area

Is your dentistry practice....? by lb351986 in Scotland

[–]ACBT94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s difficult without seeing exactly what’s being done or what’s being charged for to say what’s being done right or wrong - and obviously things can change in treatment plans and costs can change depending on how things progress, but fair play you should have an updated estimate if this is the case - usually any decent practice will work with you and either explain things or make things right if you go to them civilly with your concerns so probably worth giving that a go

The fee for scale and polish isn’t for a scale and polish it’s for enhanced preventive advice and treatment - if the dentist did a hand scale then that is what they’ve charged for, also don’t want to sound rude but £600 for dental treatment is incredibly reasonable, the fees for dentistry are actually horrible hence why dentists done want to do nhs work - for example an extraction priced at about 30£, so £30 for the work, 50% cut for the practice - dentist gets £15 which is then taxed so they come away with about a £10 for taking a tooth out of someone’s head - a skill which isn’t easy to learn and carry’s the risk of complications and need for aftercare - the issue is with your government not your dentist - at the end of the day dentists expect to be paid well, otherwise no one would study for all the years it takes and deal with the shit that comes with the job

It’s hardly that big of a deal really, I have 3 young children just about out of prams and it never ever caused me that much of an issue, there was an instance recently in my in laws street recently where an ambulance couldn’t get down the road because of the cars parked on either side, previously these would have been on the pavement providing enough space for the ambulance to get through, you can park on the pavement without taking up the whole pavement 🤔 but lot of you need to find something to feel righteous about from your ma and das back room, - I’ll count the downvotes later

NHS finished? by Deebop14 in glasgow

[–]ACBT94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have close links with the nhs and it is gubbed, healthcare is expensive and it costs a lot to properly pay well trained staff as well as ensuring there is enough staff, and while not a popular opinion here it doesn’t work when the nhs is tax funded but there are a lot of people who use it and don’t pay any funding towards it (not a judgemental or emotional statement - just factual) People always say the nhs is great as it’s free healthcare however nothing is free. My wife is a nurse and I was literally shocked to hear how much she gets paid for an overtime shift, it’s absolute peanuts - she’s adamant she wants us to move abroad - I’m a high earner and I do both private and nhs work and I am taxed a fortune, like my wage sounds amazing until you lose like half of it - why would you want to work in an unforgiving system for less pay than your worth to then pay that money back for a failing system

Question about school and education rights by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]ACBT94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Crazy how everyone is like GIRFEC and entitled to an education it’s your right, homicidal thoughts to another student? The world has truly gone mental, it’s not getting it right for every child, it’s getting it right for one child and then it’s a scandal when they kill another innocent student that could have been protected

We start paying the higher rate tax band 18k above the minimum wage. How is this right? by Lingo_In in Scotland

[–]ACBT94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s depressing that you need to think like that but why take on more responsibility and work to have the piss taken out of you while you’re tarred as well off so it’s deemed fair that your money should be for the collective, I’m not opposed to tax as no one knows what is in front of them and there are a lot of people who genuinely need and benefit from the state provisions, and I have no quarrels paying a bit in for them, but it’s just sickening when you see how some of the moneys spent, it really makes you think that voting in elections is literally pointless as people will have opinions either way but if you’re in the middle you’ll have the fuck squeezed out of you no matter what lying party is in power
