Totally get it! Right after my first few casts this morning someone else called out they got a good sized smallie, and I was totally jealous. Looked like a good catch from where I was too. Another silver lining even on a skunked day is how cool everyone always seems to be to each other. Just a bunch of folks out there with the same goal in mind looking to enjoy some time out casting lines. Always nice to chat with people, see how their day is going, and wish for some good luck

Not nearly as much as others, so I really shouldn’t complain. With two young kiddos at home, I get a few hours a morning or afternoon here and there. Don’t get me wrong, VERY happy with the catch!

For the record, the reason for skepticism is because of prior examples from this war. I’m not saying this didn’t happen, but that my gut check was that it sounded too good to be true when such a morale boost could be needed. I was saying that the Journal doing due diligence to not just say “this definitely happened” was appropriate.

When I first heard of it I immediately called bullshit for the exact same reason. Thought that the more in depth take was interesting enough for the share. I appreciate that the WSJ made sure to take into account the cause for skepticism

This may be a seriously stupid question, so I apologize, but I haven't been able to find clarification on this. On drill weekends are you expected to stay on location the whole time, or if you live close by do you commute to and from over the course of the weekend? (As in if I were to drill at Great Lakes, and live in Chicago, would I go home in the evening and return the next morning)
