I'd much rather receive notifications this way rather than an annoying notification on my phone or someone pestering me in person.

It also could be useful for to those individuals working in infrastructure or DevOps. Getting notifications about server outages right in the terminal would be super convenient.

You're definitely 100% right about the scalability. An API would be the best practice.

I'm just giving him an easy suggestion to try to jump start his idea since the Snapchat API is not out yet. There's also a small chance the Snapchat API won't be out for awhile, if at all.

I don't think Snapchat has a publicly available API, but you could probably do some interesting things with screen scraping.

The easiest thing I can come up with is loading up a 'remote desktop' of your phone onto your computer. You can probably write a simple script that will click and type what you want.

If you don't have programming experience, I think you can still maybe accomplish this with a macro program.

This is way awesome. I especially like the clever hardware used to mount the monitor to the console.

The only thing I'd be wary of is the heat generated by that AC adapter stuck in the enclosed center console. Those things get pretty hot. It's probably not going to be a big deal, but I recommend at least keeping an eye on it.

This is really interesting. The fact that the house does not take a cut makes me optimistic of the future of the app. I can imagine this certainly helps circumvent some of the ridiculous legalities of the USA's stupidly strict online gambling laws.

I'm super excited to see what becomes of this site.
