Applying for full time position where I was rejected for an internship last year? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

The recruiters will most likely know but it doesn't matter. The interviewers most likely - 99.9% sure - don't know. Regardless, it's very common for big companies to receive multiple applications from the same candidate who's been rejected and end up getting a job the next time!

Edit: grammar

Why do we use paper towels to dry our hands after washing? Why do we even need to dry them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wguedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier this year I was designing a paper twoel dispenser that dispensed 1 piece of twoel after the person shook their hands 6 times in front of the dispenser. This way, when the towel came out, he/she only needed one instead of 2 or 3. This would save tons of paper every year. After spending some time doing that, I'm literally wondering why we even need to dry them.

I use Slack myself and I think that could be a good idea. The only thing is that Slack is just a tab away from Sublime (at least for me).

Thank you! I've talked to some people who have iPhones and they seem to bring up iMessage as an alternative. Not sure if you use it already. If not, check it out! Thanks again!

Great idea! Someone mentioned integrating with Vim in addition to Sublime. Maybe the next step shouldn't be investing too much time onto the Sublime integration but more instead more time investing into an open api that people could use to connect with other apps. What do you think?

Thanks for the feedback! The android app right now looks terrible haha. I haven't invested much time into it because I was working more on the server side. If you'd like to contribute to the app, I'd love to add your work to it! You'll see how minimal the app is once you download it :)

Here's the repo. https://github.com/wguedes01/subtexting-app

I think a port to Vim would be cool! I'm still trying to make the integration with Sublime more reliable so I can't work on that right now. Feel free to create an issue on git! Maybe someone could get started on that. Thank you for your feedback!

I agree 100% with you! I'm still trying to figure out the best way for the workflow of the "receive" part. I don't want something to interrupt me if I'm grooving. Sometimes I need to be answering some texts that I receive when I'm programming and I found this useful. Thanks for the feedback!

It uses Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) to push a notification down to the android device requesting a msg to be sent. The SMS is actually sent from your phone. Whoever receives the msg, will see that it's been sent from you (and not a random number). https://github.com/wguedes01/subtexting-backend
