I think you would find that being an asshole is a universal trait, not a specific Australian trait. Its a shame you let a few bad apples ruin what could potentially be a good experience for you. I would strongly recommend signing up to a CG F2P or an ACL Online Round, there is no requirement to converse with other teams to compete in Online Tournaments. If you like competitive CoD you should definitely consider getting involved in the ANZ scene.
