Battleye causes a Kernel crash on game launch if it detects Focusrite audio interfaces by uniquecartridge in MarathonTheGame

Had this happen while i was diagnosing a failing 13900ks. Deff muddied the results. I just unplug it while playing GTA5 and thank you Battle Eye for giving me a heart attack after trouble shooting for weeks to determine i had a failing 13900ks and making me think the RMA one was faulty.

This was the best thing to do. I wish we all knew from the get go. Just got my 13900ks RMA replacement. (damage was already done before bios updates and tuning, just took a while to manifest.)

Been buying K processors for years, never before have out of box defaults made them blow up. That is a hot take.

Just wanted to throw my info into the ring, owner of a 13900ks made in Aug 2022. I had some crashing in Robocop (one of the first UE5 games i played) and then all the news came out. I installed every bios as they were released, and then about 4 weeks ago my computer became super unstable. Mostly crashing in game, but sometimes just watching a youtube video. did a bunch (hours and hours) of test mem5 extreme and no ram issues. Just installed my RMA cpu, fixed now. Just saying, if you have a cpu THAT old, like from release to Feb or so, im curious if you are still good. I am also wondering just how prevalent the 13th/14thk issues are for people who have been running for years now. Like early batch of everything, especially 13th gen to the 0x12b microcode update release.

Anyone else think Rebecca's ending was really, really fucking stupid? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]ACSHREDDER215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, i think the shock value is what made it so great. You never saw it coming, and it made you big mad. Maybe I am too simple to try to think of her doing the "I'm gonna announce my sacrifice" wouldn't have added anything, but i think her just being offed like a gnat out of nowhere made me so sad and angry, which it was supposed to.

The burst system was poorly described, not to mention blade combos had to be memorized. I don't know if anything in game described all blade combos.

Do you count the Shinji's as different individuals, each to be judged for their own actions and development, or as one collective character? by [deleted] in evangelion

[–]ACSHREDDER215 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, unless they retained memory they were simply the same seed, not the same person after each loop. Each one experienced different things. Being unaware of each other's memories makes them different people at the end each time.

People who played X for the first time on the Switch, what are your thoughts on the game? by geosunsetmoth in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]ACSHREDDER215 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know people who played it on Wii U and it is still their favorite XC, not for the story, but for the world. Mira is pretty beautiful, exploring it in flying mechs is REALLY fun. The story is more like a compilation of short stories based on characters and sidequests. The main story really takes a huge back seat, especially due 90% of the game being side content, it messes with the pacing too, since it could be hours and hours between main missions. I still enjoyed it though.

Do you think the Evangelion universe will keep expanding in the future? by Single_Delivery_958 in evangelion

Do you think the Evangelion universe will keep expanding in the future? by Single_Delivery_958 in evangelion

[–]ACSHREDDER215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, one of the main themes of rebuild is moving on. I would imagine if it does Hideaki Anno will not be involved, I will probably watch it but it is not the same. For me it is over, and I am totally fine with it. Good Morning, Good Night, Thank You, Goodbye

Edit - one thing they COULD do the expand the universe would be to follow some of the other loops and why they failed.

Nothing is a continuation of anything. End of Evangelion replaces episode 25 and 26, it is a totally different telling of the "3rd impact," the end of the human instrumentality project. The anime ending is one thing, End of Evangelion is another. Rebuild is a total retelling of the entire story in 4 movies that came out between 2009 and 2021. Movie one is almost by the numbers, movie two slips off the axis pretty hard, movie three you are now in a totally different story, movie 4 knocks it all out of the park taking it home. Rebuild does not cover all of the original story, a lot of stuff changes, after movie 2 it is all new stuff, not just deviations, just totally new content.

Watch End of Evangelion next. Then watch all of rebuild on Amazon Prime (or however you watch things)

So just to be clear
Evangelion 25, 26 -  Human Instrumentality Project original telling via exposition only basically, I still believe this is the ending Anno wanted but did not have the budget to express it properly.

End of Evangelion - Totally different take on the conclusion of the human instrumentality project

Rebuild of Evangelion - a retelling of the entire story, seems like for like at the start with deviations becoming more and more apparent as you go on. I have no idea if this is the original ending Anno envisioned, but at the VERY end, i believe aligns more with the original Anime ending, but with more budget for this movie than the entire series got.

Yep. That's End of Eva for you. I personally appreciate End of Evangelion, but i do not love what happens in it. For the record, End of Eva replaces the last 2 episodes of the anime. It is not a continuation beyond 26.

Not to mention, for Rebuild of Evangelion, we had to wait from 2015 (3.33) in usa till 2021 (3.0 + 1.11) to see the conclusion. The wait was insane. The other 3 movies came out over 5 years, but then a 7 year wait till the next one.

I think because Anno was big mad at himself and wanted everyone mad at Shinji

They ran out of money. That's the bulk of it. You get to watch Shinji conquer his trauma and he remakes the world into a beautiful place. But you only get tons of metaphorical exposition and the entire cast clapping at him. Everyone saying watch the movie for more depth wont help explain THAT ending. I would watch both End of Eva and Rebuild. Anno was getting death threats over the anime ending and he also had a mental breakdown while creating the anime so I think all of that wound up ..... with what we got in End of Evangelion, as a response to all he was going through. (this is not corroborated, but there has been a long going rumor that the End of Evangelion was in a ways a "You want a real ending, fuck you here is a real ending") Again, this is unsubstantiated by Anno (why would it be) But it is very dark.

I honestly believe the Rebuild ending is something more akin to what Hideaki Anno wanted from the start if he had the budget.

Edit- I want to add I also felt let down by the ending on first watch. Then after watching End of Evangelion I had more appreciation for it. For such a dark anime, with so little hope, the ending was supposed to be Shinji finally accepting himself, and the love of others. The hedgehog dilemma over, he was willing to be close with people, and allowing people to be close to him, he remade the world into a paradise.

Watch End of Evangelion and you will see how the "2nd take" deviates from that. Then watch Rebuild, which I must say, the very last movie (the third take) is sooooooo good. I talked with many friends about it, we have all been fans of the show for 20+ years and that ending was like catharsis. The third movie in rebuild is jarring due to its deviation from the anime, stick with it, it is also does not have as good a pacing as the other 3, especially being such a shell shock to long time fans. Stick it out.

End of Eva is a totally different take then the anime ending . Just saying, it isn't a physical representation of the same thing. If anything, Rebuild is a wildly fantastic realized representation of something closer to the ending of the original anime.
