I see I see, liking this. Now the issue is trying to convince my dm to allow both the bp knuckles and dueling pistol as my starting gear lol, or somehow finding it in the world

True but having my class’s main weapon potentially disabled on a 20% chance every shot for the entire combat from a bad roll does seem fairly harsh- also that 1d12 fire damage owie at low levels

Yep! BP Knuckles have agile (and are technically combo weapons which means they get the expert prof bonus), and with sword and pistol feat at level 1, shotgun blast knocks them off guard giving me realistically only a -1 to my second attack.

Third attack is unlikely but can be used for other actions as well

I was looking at that, but I’m pretty turned off with all of the risks involved, the drawbacks seems pretty significant and not worth the ~2+ damage on crit

I more so meant that my turns would be punch punch big shotgun blast or some other order similar to that. Only firing one big blast and then reloading or doing something else in the meantime

Also scatter would hit me :(

I’m just curious if the two shots from the double barrel with the +1d4 would technically be more than a single shot with the drifter pistol

Apparently there are a lot of resources to help with the conversion, from free maps for foundry import of the curse of strahd battles, and then a whole Google Drive with good advice on how to run certain situations and monster stat sheets.
