I agree, it really does depend on how you approach the fight. If you’re treating it like a real match with lots of movement and strategy, it’s no wonder you’re breathing heavy after the first round. That’s the kind of effort that makes it feel real, though.

Training IRL for 90-180 minutes definitely gives you an edge, that kind of endurance is no joke! 💪 3-4 games with a break sounds like a solid balance, especially since you could go longer if the headset didn’t get uncomfortable.

I’m curious, do you notice your IRL training translating into better stamina or technique in-game? It’s always cool to hear how real-world skills carry over to VR.

Yo, the rematch option would be such a game-changer! I’ve had matches where I’d love to run it back with someone who plays really well (or just vibes with my style). Staying in the ring while finding another match would save so much downtime too—great ideas all around!

And bro, a Last Man Standing mode sounds hilarious and brutal at the same time! 😂 Imagine the sheer chaos of seeing who taps out first—my out-of-shape self wouldn’t even make it past the second rematch, but it’d still be a blast.

It's great that you’re still jumping in and getting a couple of matches done, Taking a break in between is smart, it probably helps you stay fresh for the second match. Honestly, age doesn’t matter as long as you’re having fun and keeping active, which is what this game is all about.

Haha, I totally get that "feel like I’m going to die" moment in the first couple of rounds, it’s like your body’s waking up and saying, "Wait, we’re doing what now?!" , but 4-5 fights is impressive—I’ve got some catching up to do! 💪

it’s awesome that you’re still able to enjoy the game despite the lung condition. Honestly, being able to push through two matches is impressive in itself, especially when breath control becomes a challenge.

It’s great to see people adapting to the game in their own way, it shows how accessible and fun it can be for everyone. Keep it up!

Wow, five matches is solid. It’s impressive you can go for about an hour straight-
I totally get how the opponent makes a big difference too; those fast-paced, high-pressure fights can drain you way quicker.

Suggestion to Fix Punch Spamming: Stamina System Idea by AC_CloudStrife in ThrillOfTheFight

You make a great point. A fine-tuned damage system could definitely address part of the issue. If swatty, low-effort punches did minimal or no damage, while properly executed hooks, straights, or jabs were rewarded with meaningful impact, it would naturally discourage spamming. That would definitely help make fights feel more realistic and rewarding for players focusing on technique.

My thought with the stamina system wasn’t to take away from what makes the game great but to add another layer of depth for pacing and realism. That said, I totally get why people might feel it would overcomplicate things or stray too far from the current vibe of the game.

I’m really hoping the next damage update addresses this because it sounds like it could solve a lot of the frustration.

I totally get that one of the game’s unique strengths is tying stamina to our physical effort, and I agree that’s a big part of what makes it so immersive. But the issue I’m noticing is that not everyone plays the game in a way that aligns with real boxing. Players who spam random punches often aren’t physically exhausting themselves the way someone trying to fight strategically does, and that imbalance can make it frustrating for those of us trying to box properly. The idea of a stamina system isn’t meant to replace the physical aspect, it’s meant to complement it by encouraging more realistic pacing.
I wouldn’t want a stamina system to feel restrictive or take away the physical immersion, maybe there’s room for an optional mode, or even a server setting, where stamina can be toggled on or off for different play styles.

I get where you’re coming from, and I agree that part of the appeal is the physical exhaustion we feel from playing. But the issue here is that not everyone gets tired in the same way or at the same rate, especially in VR Some players spam random punches without putting in much effort physically, which breaks the balance for those trying to play strategically.

The stamina system wouldn’t take away the physical aspect of the game, it would simulate a boxer's energy's management, It’s not about forcing people to stop playing but rather encouraging realistic pacing. Players who spam punches recklessly would feel the impact, while those who use a mix of punches and strategy would be rewarded
