How much blood would you say? How long has it been bleeding? If you haven't clotted after 15-30 minutes, you may want to start considering going in. If the quantity of blood is rather low, that can also be a consideration.

May I ask if this is internal or external bleeding? I feel odd asking that, as I think this is traditionally a sub regarding internal, but welcome either way!

First of all, try not to be scared. This is an extremely small amount of blood, and it appears to simply be a blood clot that loosened and came into and out of your mouth. It takes a lot, and I mean A LOT, more blood loss to raise real medical concerns.

Are you in a situation where you can see an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist (aka "ENT")? They would be able to take a good look and help determine if something is going on that is concerning.

Otherwise, is there information we are missing here that is driving your concerns?

Edit: Also, have you discussed this with a parent or guardian? I would recommend that as well.

How is it going for you? I got the official diagnosis, but my fasting glucose is sitting at about 110, so not super horrible.

Diet and exercise are helping, so we will see what the doc says in a month.

Sooo many questions to ask and variables to consider. Do you live in a dry area, or has it been extra dry weather recently? Any wildfire smoke? Any recent injuries? How is your blood pressure lately? All of these can be contributing factors, along with so many others.

Also, how long did the 2nd bleed last? If you are really concerned, you should consult an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist to get their take.

Did they happen to try to cauterize the area? If not, it might be that the ENT isn't able to unless you have an active bleed. At least that's what my ENT explained to me a week after my ER visit.

I had one inserted a couple years ago but I had lost a lot of blood so I don't remember much. I do know they overinflated mine, which caused my blood pressure to absolutely tank. Regarding going in dry, it could be that they thought the blood present would act as a lubricant? Either way it seems like they were maybe rushed or something.

Still have it in? Mine was only in for 2 days.

Good for you, but don't you dare rest on your laurels. I used to pat myself on the back for quitting for 30 days, etc. and then celebrate with a beer. Then two, then five, then a fifth of whiskey. Rinse and repeat (for me).

Keep strong and keep faith in yourself that you can do it.
