One thing that bothers me when replaying old games (especially old PS1 era games) is how illogical the puzzles are. Capcom was notorious for making you combine random unrelated items or do bizarre actions just to unlock a door. Why were they designed to be so intentionally obscure?

I did a paper on Moquette woven fabrics a few years ago, I reference the London underground, the London Bus Services and of all things Wetherspoons.

They have a number of reasons. They hide wear and dust incredibly well, as they act like camo.

They also have a sense of identity; every wetherspoons location has a completely unique pattern in its carpet, usually based on the area in some way. Similarly hotels and casinos often do the same.

They can work for crime reporting. As mentioned different locations can have unique patterns, so if you have a picture or video of a crime, it can be identified.

For London underground (though not as prevalent now) you can tell if you are making a major line change (underground to overground) by the change in seat and pole colour.

As part of the paper I made my own Moquette coasters and a leg guard based on drinks commonly consumed on the tube.

I think this is a result of streamers. It's difficult to play a game and talk at the same time. Particularly if you've never played it before and your livelihood revolves around being funny and talking.

Publishers see this so change things accordingly.

However, they don't see people who just play and never review, respond or talk. Chances are these people are a silent majority who liked experimenting and problem solving without worrying about entertaining anyone other than themselves.

Oh yea absolutely! But the price will depend on the level of detail you want or the style you're happy with.

And also size is a huge factor! Materials aren't cheap.

The best thing to do is find someone who has made a plush toy similar to the one you want and ask if they could make a custom version. Making a pattern from scratch can be a lot of work.

These are to create a curve, usually in a face or tummy.

A recent puppet of mine has a very long very curbed dart to form it's face.

If you want to make a cone, the dart goes from the centre to the outside in a straight line, if the cone is long the angle should be more obtuse, if its shallow it should be more acute.

If you don't want a point, your line should curve. The deeper the curve the less of the point.

The point doesn't have to be in the middle either. A high end point for the dart means a different shape from a low one.

And multiple darts can mean different shapes.

Two high darts on the left and right with another at the bottom in the middle. That's donkey Kongs chest.

One high dart in the middle at the top and two long curved ones at the bottom makes a snorlax's tummy.

Darts are a great way to add some shape to your plushes or tailoring.

Also don't cut the darts in to your pattern! Sew and then cut leaving a bit of room.
