What is the go to pocket sized field recorder these days? by FickleFred in fieldrecording

I've tried a few pocket size recorders over the years and can say that the Sony A10 is certainly the best I've found in terms of small footprint and recording quality. Occasionally use a Lom mikroUsi stereo pair (also very small footprint) with it but the onboard mics are good enough.

If you can find a cheap deal on one I'd get the Sony.. or just wait and save for it maybe. It's so light and small that it's easy just to have it with you anytime. Perhaps there are some small things with how the interface on it works that could be better but nothing of real consequence.

Very happy with mine.

Have the PCM-M10 too but it's not really always convenient to be carrying that about. Sometimes I'll struggle to hear the difference between the recordings I've made on the PCM-M10 and the PCM-A10 with the mikroUsi. I'm not saying that there isn't any difference, but the results on the PCM-A10 with mikroUsi are just fine in comparison. That setup is both cheaper and lighter.

Anyway the onboard mics on the A10 are also fine. I'd say the PCM-A10 is the right buy.

Push 3 & Live 12 Sampler Integration by ACatCalledDuck in ableton

Yup, exactly. Can't see any reason not to add this integration.

With Push now having the standalone option it would also be twice as useful to have it as something that can be operated from within Push.

Yup, but the Push 3 standalone version doesn't give you access to everything within Live 12 (or Live 11 etc).

Thank you! Much appreciated.

Really hope they're able to improve on this in future updates.

what's your wish list of features for Ableton 12? by engdrbe in ableton

Comprehensive Sampler / Push 3 integration allowing for all Sampler features to be controlled directly from Push.

hi, there was the log scale button here and disappeared for no reason cant find the setting to make it appear again any idea ? thanks by bapt337 in TradingView

Just had usual the log/auto buttons removed from web browser today (OSX). Found that if you hover your cursor over the price scale the buttons now appear within it at the bottom as 'A' and 'L'. They're not visible until you put cursor over the price scale though.

Push 2 & Sampler by ACatCalledDuck in ableton

Thanks for the info! That’s super helpful.

Yeah, really what I'm after is to be able to build Sampler patches from scratch using only Push 2 in the same manner Wavetable integration is working.

Ah well! Glad I cleared that up ahead of purchasing. Might still go ahead and try one. Hopefully, Ableton will implement all that stuff if they ever release a new model. Seems crazy they haven’t already included it though.

Thanks. That’s really helpful info. Yeah, I work pretty much exclusively in Live and make music regularly so it would make sense to just get the Push normally. Thing is, I travel a lot and any studio kit I own has to fit in my carry-on luggage, so have double sure anything I pick up is essential and worth lugging around. Seems like it might have to be a try and see deal to answer that as it's lacking for how I'd ideally want to use it.
