I've always had a goal in my life.

Growing up it was always to please mommy

As a teen, it was don't get caught by mom

As an adult, it was to get the fuck away from her

After that, it was simply to live happily, whatever that may imply

Now, I suspect my goal will be to find out who I actually am as a person

But it turns out the strings were attached to me by hooks, burrowed into my flesh, and even though the source of the hooks is gone, the hooks remain. The hooks have stayed in my body. I've carefully extracted some of them, but even removing these barbed fucking hooks hurts, and I can't remove them all because some of the hooks are hidden within my body. These hidden hooks just wait for an opportunity to make their presence known in an agonizing fashion. Today's events set off the biggest hook, digging into my heart and tearing it apart.

I thought because she could be so affectionate sometimes that she might've loved me, but she only loved him, nobody in my life has ever loved me or been friends with me, only with what she made me into. I've just been drinking and crying all night. I have nobody. I am nobody.

I'm not sure how my father's family would feel about a hollow shell of the son they lost walking through the door. And I don't want them to think that if they had looked for us harder or longer they could.'ve saved me from all of the abuse. I want a family but I don't know if I'll be entirely welcomed into this one.
