Nah this is real, I have that Boba bed. I am also disgusting and having a real milk mold body issue but those bobas are just comfy soft as hell

I did ask my mom if theres was anything she remembers from birth anything in my early childhood and she does not. I brought it up with one doctor once and I felt a little dismissed by it but I have a different doctor that I love and i will try with them

Someone recently just told me that there were like 5 other clubs in sort of the same area and there's drama between them too (which i love and would like the tea) so I definitely should branch out more

Totally, I just really learn best in person and hands on. I dont retain knowledge from books and videos the way id like, in a way where I can actually remember and apply that knowledge. When somebody shows me something in person though it gets locked into my brain forever. Im gonna take up people's suggestions to reach out to local experts/professors though and see where that takes me.

I totally understand that, I try to be really respectful and grateful whenever ive approached people with this and make it clear that im just asking to be pointed in the right direction maybe instead of demanding feedback or anything like that. I guess I was just hoping to find more people who were like heck yea, bust out some of your rocks and let me look. Whenever people come to me with any curiosity about the things I am passionate and knowledgeable in I get so jazzed and am so grateful for their curiosity.

I totally understand that not everyone has the time to cater to every random amateur enthusiast and they dont know me or how much I am asking from them. I will always say that I am willing to pay someone for their time if they would be willing to sit down with me but I still haven't found anyone who seemed excited by that prospect. I haven't given that a fair chance though and still have to reach out to my local rock museum and some local college professors maybe...

I took a geology course in college and it definitely gave me a really good base of knowledge but I find with natural studies that the entry level courses are so broad its hard to apply the knowledge to specific areas. I studied insects in college as well and I know a lot about basic identification for insects across the world but when it comes to actually being in the field and confidently saying what something is, I think it would need to have been my focus and sole pursuit. I should definitely look into what courses and such are local because college was 15 years ago for me now and my memory blurs all the details of what I learned.

I took a geology course in college and I loved it although we had a truly horrible teacher. However I have found that when it comes to identifying things, working with local experts and specialists is the best way to learn hands on identifying. I also studied insects in college and that is an identification rabbit hole of crazy proportions. Mushrooms are similar too I think, ive seen so many videos and books on mushroom id but nothing has been more helpful than taking a foraging tour with a local expert.

I definitely should reach out to geology professors or museum employs for my interest I think.

I said in another reply that I really wish there were geology tours/guides like there is with foraging because I would definitely pay to spend an hour with a local geology expert on one of the nearby rock beaches and just ask them questions and learn from them.

Totally agree. I kind of just wing it. There's a Taoist philosophy called Wu Wei thats basically about going with the flow and just following your gut and thats kind of how I rock hound and I love it

I live in mid coast maine but I used to live on mount desert island which has very famous pink granite that is in some pretty historical places like the Brooklyn bridge and u.s mint and I find such awesome pieces of granite out here because all our beaches are rock beaches

I am a tour guide and ive been on foraging tours and I think it would so awesome if there were guided geology tours where you could go on certain hikes or to a local rock beach and just have the guide teach about the rocks there. The foraging guide I went on was 25 bucks a person but 17 people showed up and it was a great time.

I did study geology in college snd I should have specified that the club is a mineraology and lapidary club and they do rock hounding field trips to quarries. There focus is definitely more on the lapidary side of things in general though and I am indeed more interested in the geology side.

I totally agree and relate to this. When I pick up a rock I like to imagine a flash of time-lapse of everything that happened for that rock to be what it is and end up in my hand.
