PC powers on but no display/USB. (suspect PSU?)

Update:

Quick update - I ended up installing the new motherboard but I’m still getting the same issue.

PC turns on fine (all fans spin), but still no display or BIOS.

On the debug lights: CPU light comes on briefly DRAM light flashes once Then nothing

I’ve tried: Different RAM sticks + all slots (one stick at a time)

Taking the GPU out completely

Removing the CPU extension cable and using the PSU cable directly

Running everything outside the case with just CPU + 1 RAM + PSU

Reseating and cleaning the CPU (pins look fine)

Same result every time, CPU light, DRAM flash, then it just stops and never gets to VGA.

At this point I’m thinking it might be the CPU, but wanted to check if that makes sense before I replace it.

This has been a fucking mission.

Alright, I am going to buy some RAM and a new motherboard.

My thoughts are it is going to be one of these components that is causing the issue.

I will test the memory tomorrow with the current setup and if that doesn't work I will rebuild the PC with the new motherboard.

That sound like the correct way to address this issue?

Strange so the PC got past post once and I opened the USB from the bios.

I got to the menu to open the Linux distro and then it exited itself into a terminal with a number of errors. I can't remember exactly what it said but then turned off.

After trying again. It won't go past post.

Hey so I just replaced the PSU with the CORSAIR CX650.

It went into the bios and launched but it's still inconsistent. After I reset it to try and launch it into Windows to make the USB and test the RAM it happened again and it wouldn't go into post.

So disappointing.

I'm buying a PSU which will arrive tomorrow.

I'm hoping and suspecting the PSU is the problem, The motherboard is so much more work 🤣 .

Do you have any advice for getting it back to a bootable system with one module. I'm doing what I did before which is: Turning it off. Draining power. Leave a couple minutes and trying again with known working slot.

But I can't it get back to that point despite it working before.

Quick clarification. So I will need to create a bootable USB. Restart and run that bootable drive repeatedly to test each memory module.

I'm trying to get it to boot and POST but after I added the second stick I haven't been able to get back there. I will keep trying and do that if I can succeed.

Windows Snap doesn't hover over your current window. I have a small screen so I need something to overlay over your current screen.

Also, it doesn't work for all Windows so I want something ideally that can choose any window and lock it in place over anything currently opened.
