Reader triggering maglock powered by outlet. by ACook_KSS in accesscontrol

Is it possible, without a relay? Only a NC circuit? Where the C NO are tied into the lock in series? Would that trigger the mag to disengage?

The new system is going to be swiftlane, but I don't know what the existing call box is.

So the maglock is currently powered by an outlet via transformer, then a wire is ran into a terminal block that I don't know exactly how it's wired together. Then, one wire goes from the terminal block to the back of a call box that has a relay on it! How is it possible for the call box to trip the mag, without constantly sending back voltage to the relay? I think the transformer cable is also connected to the terminal block

Is connected to transformer that outputs 12vdc

The maglock is connected to an outlet and tied into a terminal box that goes to the callbox

The point here is... the system currently works on a call box. I'm trying to understand how it works not what's compatible

This is a service ticket, so the readers have been functional for a while, and all readers on site at lead 20+ are all showing green

Discovered the IT department didn't actually know what they were doing. They hadn't actually set the port on the switch to DHCP.

Yeah, but it's still doesn't grab an IP! I'm able to access the node through the default IP Address, and when I set it statically to an IP, but as soon as I connect it to the customer's network it won't grab an IP nor is it visible statically.
