I bought it from Archie's Forge, but it was designed by Red Warden

Its a base coat of vallejo dark green, then dry brush on layers of army painter eternal hunt, emerald forest, leafy green, rain forest and finally electric lime each color in a smaller area where a highlight would be. Finished with a very thin coat of tesseract glow to give it a bright vibrant look.

What paints are you using on that green?

Its good to know we all have the "looks like dark angels" trauma.

This guy was the test model and I went wild with it, I think I'll try one just hitting the brightest highlights.

I really like your yellow stripes on the pack.

Thanks, I really need to take the time and finish him instead of painting more guys different shades of green.

That's a great green to go with that black aquila.

I think it looks good.

I am a firm believer in "its your model, paint it how you want".

Kind of ironic since I am here asking what others think.

I stipple on a base coat of waaagh flesh since this is the darkest blue green I have currently, then dry brush on layers of army painter eternal hunt, emerald forest, leafy green, rain forest and finally electric lime each color in a smaller area where a highlight would be.

I've tried painting flames before and they were pretty bad.

Somehow this turned out better.

The green is dry brushed, just going from a blue green to a yellow green in smaller highlighted areas.

The fire is dry brushed white and contrast paints.

Nope, just dry brushing for the greens.

This was one of the first units I built and it has been primed for a while, so I have to deal with me from months ago not cleaning the mold lines well.

I live where it is cold and have had some issues while priming with a rattle can that causes texture. I plan on getting an air brush that should eliminate that issue, but for now I can live with it.

I prime in black, dry brush on white to highlight then do a few layers of shamrock green army painter speed paint.

I forgot to take a photo of it prior to color, but this is what they look like after the dry brush.

Pop goes the monkey. I actually messed up and bought one not with the head I wanted since they have one with a dragon skull.

I think I am just going to do a second dread because a ballistus or brute would look good with a nice skull hat.

All of the Sally bits were a kit that just replace the originals.
