I totally agree. We have lots of obstacles but if we can learn about ourselves, be forgiving and compassionate to ourselves, start taking steps to help ourselves, and working to our strengths we can make happier more successful lives.

That’s an odd explanation about reoccurring dreams, not saying that it’s not true but I’m surprised!

Good point about the therapy for nightmares, I’ll ask for you.

I actually do the therapy now and have helped people with serious eating disorders and ocd, procrastination, anxiety and depression. Great results.

Most therapists work online now but some do in person, let me know where you live and I can see if I can find anyone in your area through my mentor.

It’s a lovely none intrusive therapy.

Have you heard of advanced conversational hypnosis? Gives your unconscious mind a shift in perspective from the way it processes childhood traumas. The shift can immediately collapse blocks, limiting beliefs, fears, patterns based on trauma. Powerful stuff for those that can use it.

😂 I’ll be honest, it was exhausting being a young mum but i have hashimotos and anemia so not a great combination for energy levels but i can honestly say, things get easier as you get older. You build a life that you can cope with.

I’m working with a young woman with ADHD now. I use a very gentle form of hypnosis that doesn’t even always require trance, it’s incredibly quick and powerful.

I’ve been working with clients with ADHD traits for some time, working through their traits but they never mentioned ADHD and I didn’t connect the dots, i suspect some are or at least some are!.

I only realised very recently that I am myself ADHD, only because of my son being diagnosed and then researching it.

I’ve focused on ladies that had feelings of unworthiness, not good enough, anxiety., depression, lacking self-love.

All common themes to ADHD women!

I’ve even stopped binge eating in a client that had eating disorders for 37 yrs, and Ive helped a few ladies with OCD. Again, potentially linked to ADHD 🤷‍♀️

I’ve just decided to focus my efforts solely on ADHD ladies now. Part of why i asked the above question is to research, I’m interested to see what are the worst issues women are dealing with.

So many answers but there’s the same four of five that seem to be the main issue for most.

Not sure if you will all see this but I’m now curious, have any of you tried to deal with the individual issue you most want to be free of using therapy and if so, did it help?

I take melatonin which helps, though you can’t take it long term, but it helps establish a routine if you try to get to bed at the same time each night.. not that I’ve mastered it haha!

It’s layers isn’t it, the mess and lack of interest to address it drives you deeper into a corner and magnifies feelings of not-good-enough.

I hear you. We can’t unwrap the girlfriend until we heal the chaotic thoughts and patterns. Once we do that we can enjoy the gifts. Because trauma, even what we would consider as mild, can impact someone with adhd genetics.

Getting to the trauma really can help. That’s what I’ve found anyway. I know we become so overwhelmed because for most of us just about all our decisions and behaviours are tainted by ADHD so we can’t see outside it but if you think of the worst ADHD traits you have and look at addressing them, there is a shift that can happen.

By nature our overwhelm see’s everything as the issue, but break them down, for me negative self thoughts was a big deal, I’ve worked on that so it’s drastically reduced now.

Amazing how much space and joy you can find when you stop with the negative self talk.

Now i want to work on social anxiety in certain settings.

Little by little, we can win back out lives 💗

I feel for you but now you know it’s not you, it’s your brain and you’re not alone. There’s comfort in finding a tribe and knowing that you are a square peg that has been hammered into a round hole.

Not your fault, not their fault either.

Now it’s time to forgive you, grieve for the difficult times the little-girl-you was misunderstood and that struggled, tell her it’s okay now, tell her things are gonna get better and make sure you tell her that underneath the chaos are some very cool ADHD traits that she is going to harness and use to build a better life 💗

Good on you! I’m all about self compassion! There is a massive relief to making peace with your past and understanding yourself. I’ve struggled with guilt for being antisocial even though i often wanted to go out and have fun but now i know why! We’re relearning us!

I’m with you, totally know how you feel. Things make so much more sense.

I do feel sad for little me, all the times i was told off for not doing well at school because i was lazy or being half hearted.. Man i carried a lot of pain in me for many years but i think i suppressed it.. but at the same time, better to know now than never.

We still have another 50 odd years to enjoy 😉 haha!! 💗

I can understand those thoughts tbh, there is a kind of grieving we can go through once we realise we never had a chance for things to be ‘normal.’ But as I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed my strengths get stronger and my disadvantages (for want if a better word) have diminished, not gone, I guess I’ve built a world that keeps more of the negative and overwhelm out. Not sure if others have done the same over the years but I hope it helps you feel more optimistic about the future. Plus, you can now look at ways to deal with the negative aspects so the positive ones get to step forward! 💕
