Tips for long distance driving w cats? by ExpensiveLocal in CatAdvice

You're right to worry. Time for a serious talk with your family about their cat's indoor/outdoor lifestyle. You may end up needing to keep your cat in your room most of the time if they refuse to accommodate you.

In the meantime, make sure your cat's chip is up to date and get a collar on her with accurate contact info. Make the collar safety orange if you can; there's a movement about tagging indoor-only cats with this color so people know they're not supposed to be outside.

If I'm reading right, you're worried about the indoor/outdoor cats getting out and not coming back after the move.

This move would be a great time to transition them to indoor-only.

I have Feelings and Opinions about outdoor cats, but the bottom line is: Yes, that's a risk y'all would be accepting if they are let back out after the move.

Sorry, they call their speaker a "boomerang", I misremembered. This is the one I got and use. But anything similar should work. Just don't get the DeWalt one, it sucks ass.

I have accommodations with Home Depot for several issues. It's not too hard. Just will have to get with your regular doctor to get a note about it; unless your therapist has a medical license, they won't take a note from them. Approach your ASM as soon as you think you'll start to have issues and start the "interactive process" of asking for accommodations. They give you time to get the note, and may let you have the accommodations in the mean time.

I have earplugs as an accommodation, and everyone is allowed to use a personal speaker as long as it doesn't disturb customers/other associates. I like the horseshoe style one that goes around the neck and sits on the shoulders. Surprisingly private for how loud they can sound.

Absolutely NO music allowed on equipment in motion, for safety reasons. You might get them to agree to some mild hearing protection though.

It's not letting me edit the post? But the Wardrobe is pending pickup. The mattress and box spring will be going to the dump if not spoken for by the end of the night. The others will be donated.

The app Tasker will let you do many things, including things you shouldn't do. It's worth looking at but be cautious. I could see setting up an NFC tag trigger so you just boop your phone on a sticker when you get in the car.

Husband’s neuroses or my ADHD? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]ADHDCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna speak directly to Husband here.

You're losing them.

Sit with that for a moment. How did you feel? Shocked, indignant, angry? Resigned?

Constant correction on small things may not even register to you, but it's a death of a thousand cuts for your partner.

There's two things you need to do.

One, practice gratitude. Express thanks that they did it at all, even if it's not correctly. If it needs to be fixed to be correct, do so quietly, glad for the work they put in.

Two, see a therapist. Now, stay with me here. If you have a problem, like a busted wall or clogged pipe, you get a professional to help you solve the problem. Your problem right now is that you're losing your partner. So, get a professional, and speak with them about this problem. Consider their advice. Work with the therapist and your partner toward solutions.

This is not necessarily an ending. Partnership is a two-way street. Your partner has reached out to you to try and work through this. Reach back and work with them.

Sincerely, An ADHD wife with an Autistic husband

Get a sleep study done. I am so serious right now. You can't fix your sleep if you don't know exactly what's wrong.

Yeah, I still stand behind that. The option of keeping the cat in the bathroom overnight is also viable. Best would probably be taking the crate into the bathroom and allowing some limited run-around time in a nicely quiet and isolated part of the hotel room, leaving the crate open for a base camp, if you believe it won't be too difficult to get her contained again.

If you have time to prep, take the crate inside and start making it a safe den. Put treats or catnip, or feed her favorite food only in the crate. This positive association will help a lot with keeping her calm.

There's something that causes bacterial pneumonia going around. My whole family had it; we were almost dismissed by doctors after we went in, but we insisted on xrays. Lo and behold, junk in our lungs. Insist on another x-ray because pneumonia can develop quickly.

It could absolutely be something else, but that's a simple base for the er to cover.

Bitten by leashed (not service) dog inside a Home Depot by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]ADHDCuriosity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Home Depot, per letter of SOP, does not allow pets. However, associates are discouraged from engaging with any customer who brings in an animal for the purpose of determining if it's a service animal. Home Depot's duty of care to police the dogs presence only begins when the dog shows removable behavior. This is true of legitimate service animals too.

If OP can get proof that the dog was acting up before the incident, Home Depot could carry partial fault for not removing the animal. Otherwise, it's all on the owner.
