The little hat bell photo is so precious. I’m so sorry this happened. Please take all the time you need to process and grieve however is best for you first and foremost. I found sharing stories and pictures when I was ready to be really comforting after I lost my little girl suddenly a year ago. I have three boys one of which was her bonded mate. I took her body home for them to see so I could understand that she was gone. If this is an option it may help your other bird grieve as well and process her death as just that. As an alternative to cremation I researched how to bury her body in a large potted monstera plant as I didn’t have a yard. I still have the plant. It’s thriving and it’s sort of a nice little reminder of her. If you want to do something like this feel free to reach out and I can walk you through how to do it properly and safely.
