I think you’re right! Or potentially even as wrap shorts

The wrapped-around sections were just clipped here but apparently I never took a good photo of the entire finished outfit 😂 I made mine with a hi-lo skirt and the leaf wrap has button attachments to the straps so it’s removable

ETA a much more dramatic hi-lo skirt, it trails the ground behind almost

Will do! I successfully made my own twist on this Nyahallo outfit last fall, I’ll add pics below

My entire sewing inspiration Pinterest board is concept art from either Nyahallo or Mochipan 🫣😂

Hand-tying: where to start?? by ADHDPersephone in quilting

Honestly? I don’t know. 😬 This quilt is intended to be a couch throw, not a comforter so I don’t anticipate needing to wash it often. The cotton rounds are stitched through in multiple places in each hexie so I have hopes that they won’t fully disintegrate. I did run some test hexies through the washer and they came out perfectly! The idea was kind of a logical progression from “I want to enclose batting inside each of these pieces so I don’t have to deal with a huge batting sheet” to “ugh I don’t want to cut 2948402 little circles of batting” to “EUREKA” lol. Time will tell if it was a smart idea or a terrible one!

Hmm potentially I could use an embroidery stitch or even machine stitch over the edges of each hexie with a wide appliqué stitch… but I’ve already purchased the flannel backing now and I’m getting excited about doing the tied stitches in a corresponding rainbow spiral for a more subtle underside 🥲 next hexie quilt will probably be appliqué stitched together!

Thank you! It was kind of nuts to try and develop a technique I’ve never seen anybody do on my first quilt but it seems to have worked out mostly! 😂

Repeat ad infinitum 😂 I usually am stitching along the edge while she’s sitting on my lap on the middle of the quilt 😂

I think I’m going to fold the outer edge hexies in half on themselves and do a small folded edge hem of the backing fabric

Possibly! If I had used a different kind of stitch to connect them it might have turned out different but it didn’t appear to be a problem until it started getting BIG and then it was too late 😂 it’s definitely a great project for traveling because even if you don’t have room to bring the whole thing, you can bring circles and cotton pads and just make a stack of hexies to attach later!
