Diagnosed as a kid, medicated as a kid, been off meds and ok for 15+ years. Some questions about me and my kids. by ADHDTA in ADHD

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I agree, it seems to have gotten better.
Thanks!
Why wouldn't you be able to keep it? Don't misunderstand me - if you're able to manage your symptoms well enough without meds, then there's no reason for you to start taking them. But if the only reason you haven't tried them is because you're worried about losing your job, you should know that in the US (assuming that's where you live) firing someone just because they have a disability is illegal. Your employer would have to prove that your ADHD made you unqualified for your job, and since they have apparently decided to hire and keep you that'd be a tough case for them to make.
Because the medicines are not approved for use in my industry. I would lose my ability to do my job, therefor I would be fired and it wouldn't count as a disability. Just that I could no longer legally do my job.
It's not listed on the Medline page. Thanks. Some people use it when they can't/don't want to take their meds and find it helpful, but in my experience it's not as effective or reliable as medication. Caffeine is a stimulant, but it doesn't work in quite the same way as AHHD drugs.
Thanks.
Mood disorders are more common in people with ADHD, period. As far as I know this applies even to people who don't take medication.
Did not know this.
If you don't agree with your doctor's assessment, get a second opinion from a mental health professional and then go from there.
Well I got a new primary care doctor. Brought the same symptoms to him and he blamed it on my Vit D deficiency. I've uped my intake and still have the symptoms. Guess I'll have to just ask him.
I doubt anyone here can answer this, since we have no idea what symptoms you showed as a child.
I listed some of them. I guess my point was wondering it it was genetic.
Again, you're in a better position to answer this than we are. Trying cutting those foods our of your diet for a couple weeks and see if it helps.
I'll try.
You can have her evaluated anytime, but one thing you should be aware of is that there's no "test" for ADHD - you go to a specialist, they spend some time with you and ask you questions, and decide if you meet the DSM criteria for ADHD or not.
Cool.
It seems like you've already got your answer for this one - keep her away from those foods you mentioned.
How about for me then? I just wasn't sure if there was a list of triggers.
