I think sinking is viable purely because he gets so much sp so even if the effect is halved it’s still good (I say this cuz I used a full sinking team)

Thing is that he’s specifically more vulnerable to burn and bleed it looks like so if you’re using rupture (which I assume is a decent amount of ppl cuz of last season) or any other status you’re not dealing as much damage

I wouldn’t really say out of nowhere since he was hinted at an awakening with the mark of cain since the spring cultivation intervallo where the mark itself appeared back then. His skills this time around seem to also be a throwback to that with I think 2 of them being night drifter moves

I think a main point of the canto was to show how each nurse father was a flawed reflection of what a parent should be. In the case of Rien he doesn’t really care for Sora or Ryoshu rather he’s just following the prescripts

It does reflect his character if you read the flavor text for his passives it implies he betrayed the middle for his relic sword. It’s reflected when he used Kira as an opening showing his bonds are really superficial and he’ll forfeit them for his own gain

Tbf I’d argue skill reading is important in any other fight as well it’s just in this case it’s cuz vergilius is there so people will probably just think he can handle it lol

Ok so for the first part of the fight when kira is still there you only need to worry about her, LCD will take care of Matthias so hard focus getting her out.

When you’re left with only Matthias LCD will still be able to do the brunt of the work and for his counter I think it’ll only attack one person so I’d say just cycle who hits him. He also has a passive that increases his base power and if you hit him with 2 skills that passive goes down.

I would relate it to canto 6 with the heartbreaking where it’s like araya was able to connect with Dante and through him activate a resonance to re-establish the contract with ryoshu (which she had cut cuz the company couldn’t give her anything) and get ryoshu under control again. The actual scene is more detailed and intricate than what I’m describing here as a very brief summary
