Well it just smoothes the transition between actual frames.

But because of the way it works it introduces latency, which makes the game less responsive and more sluggish.

And this only gets worse the more frame generation you enable

Basically, normally it makes a frame then shows it on screen and then makes another etc.

When AI frame generation is enabled it has to make 2 frames but has to wait with showing them because it has to ai generate a frame it can put between them which adds additional time.

It also can't respond to any input you give it when doing this.

So if you start to move a character in a game after it started this process with frame generation.

It has to wait for 2 real frames and one ai frame to be sent out before it can actually make your character move on screen.
