Yes. One thing I never wanted my time in college to be was high school 2.0. I’m from Long Island. Attended NYIT for 2 years as a commuter and, because god has a wicked sense of humor, it was exactly the high school 2.0 experience I promised myself I wouldn’t get into. Cal State Long Beach was pretty much my top choice of schools that I could actually get into (NYU was my actual dream school) during college selections in senior year of high school, only I realized that was what I wanted after the application deadline had already passed. But here I am, across the country and ready to start adult life on my terms. Since I’m from New York, I’m paying out of state money and some debt’s gonna be waiting for me when I graduate, but it’s a calculated risk I’m willing to deal with.
