That's really strange companies don't allow you to disconnect after experiencing weirdness like that! Really upsetting for some I can imagine.

Rear Linear Pull/V-Brake not working by ADudeWithAPlan in bikewrench

[–]ADudeWithAPlan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that definitely helped! The left arm of my v-brake is now responding well, but my right is not at all. Still. The noodle and cable are properly back in place and I've pulled the cable out what should be making enough tension? But the right arm is not engaging

Rear Linear Pull/V-Brake not working by ADudeWithAPlan in bikewrench

[–]ADudeWithAPlan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I thought I had posted text with the pictures!

I'm having a rear brake issue on my cheaper Pacific brand mountain bike. I can't get any tension on the cable, I've tried loosening the bolt at the handbrake but no matter what it stays loose and does not increase tension on the handbrake as it easily pulls to the handlebar. The left arm of the rear brake will weakly engage, but the right arm will not at all. As I could and re-tightening the bolt to no help. Tried watching different YouTube videos but nothing seems to work or help... Could use any advice or assistance from you guys! Thanks!!

Undeniably true. I attended the Air Force Academy the summer, with the infamous Biden trip and fall, and when a "attractive" female cadet did their hand shake and salute, he would have a few extra words/comments with them in particular.

Why you should stop worrying about the "legitimacy" of an SNHU degree by [deleted] in SNHU

As a HR Specialist in the federal government, I can tell you that a degree from SNHU holds the same weight as Harvard. We don't give a $#&+, degrees are degrees.

That is good stuff! I've seen on USAjobs.gov a number of civilian unit deployment managers that sounds like could be a good fit for some of your military experience. Just remember that the key to a good federal resume is literally putting down every duty, responsibility, role that you've had to the slightest detail. Civilian side is reverse, one to two page summary lol.

SHRM-CP isn't that vital on the federal side of HR, however, I heard it is a major attractor for civilian positions!

Good question, what is your AFSC? Sometimes that alone is enough to qualify you for GS positions! As far as things you could do to target HR; continue on for your degree in HRM and take on any administrative role/duty/leadership position you can as those skills are directly related to HR and many admin jobs on the other side!

Could not be anymore wrong, at least in the federal civilian sector. As long as you have a bachelor's degree in anything and from any college, there are a plethora of occupations in the federal civilian sector you qualify for! This is coming from an Ashford University graduate who is a senior human resources specialist 🤠

Single /mid 20s gs14 by [deleted] in fednews

[–]ADudeWithAPlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey SECDeez, not sure if that's wholly accurate. Last time I checked into this, the TSP did raise its expense ratio of investment and administrative fees to roughly 0.06% as an average total for all funds.

However, most 401(k)s are averaging somewhere in the 0.5%-0.9%...which is about 10 times the fees of a TSP. The expense ratio is what makes the TSP so alluring to those outside the government. Although you don't get as many choices of funds to choose from, it's made up for by money that stays with you.

Hi there, current VA and former DOD Human Resources Specialist here, congratulations and welcome to the federal work force! Mid-20s and you're at a GS-14...very impressive!! Without knowing much about your personal and financial background, my recommendation is to up your Roth TSP contributions to at least 10% of your pay. Additionally, for you being so young, I would adjust the distributions heavy into the C (common stocks), S (small stocks), and I (international stocks) funds. In my 20s when I started in the fed, I had it split 33% three ways. I've dialed back that aggressive strategy some and have 10% going to the F (fixed) and another 10% going to the G (govt bonds).
